Now the line dropped significantly from the overnight line, so I had a misread on my timing, but don't think I've misread the winner of tonight's game 6. So I risked an additional unit at the improved odds. This pick will count as just 1 win or loss on my record, but will be worth either -2 units if it loses, or +1.567 units for the win (.7407+.8264 at -135 and -121 odds, respectively). So once again:

I got a few reasons for such a play. Here's one thing, I lost yesterday going against the Ravens AFTER I lost a moneyline bet on the Ravens in Week 8. So in hindsight, that was not good follow-through on my part.
I took the +20 spread with New York Jets last week (Week 8) on the road in Kansas City, which was perhaps an arguably reasonable play, but ended up money burnt on that selection. So now, why not follow-through on the Jets this week, is what I say to myself. The Patriots are not even a mirage of their former self.
This can look real bad if it loses, and at the same time, probably nobody is gonna say it's a genius play if it wins. Grinding out this stretch and making some mistakes along the way, but the Jets game looked good right until the very end when it was too many Jets mistakes, starting with the Flacco long interception, with 5:50 remaining. Then continued to unravel from there. If you saw the Chargers lose to the Raiders by making about 6 mistakes yesterday at the end of the game, this game went the same way.
Just like those teams, I gotta clean up the mistakes and move forward.

Two of the losses in this bunch were by the narrowest of margins:
Virginia Tech lost 24-25 after leading most of the game, but it appeared they completely ran out of gas in the 2nd half
UNLV lost 17-34 at San Jose, so my spread +16 did not catch the closing number of +17 to push
And in the Oregon at Washington State game, even the books were confused about the total during the later stages of the game in Live betting. Just an observation, I saw 51.5, it might have touched 49.5, and then very late they were giving Over 57.5 at +120 or thereabouts..... right after that - Oregon quickly scored and then a flurry of more points followed, 43-29 final.
