It's pretty much under control here as far as stage 1 goes.

Talk is now what to do next. Expectation is govt will order everyone under 40 years old back to work and school and all high risk people and aged will have ramped up protection.

They saying need the young to take a bullet for us to end this as fast as possible for least economic damage. Estimating 30k people will die due to that policy but will get herd immunity up to 60% really fast and small business back to work.

Alternative seems to be to keep us all at home until a vaccine comes and maybe decrease that death toll to 10k best case scenario. But would totally pretty much bankrupt most everyone during the wait.

I expect NRL teams will all be living on an island and playing in just a couple of local cities/towns with no crowds still.

There are drive through testing tents in hot spots for locals in that area to take a test if they want. But I think in general it is still like most places, unless been exposed and showing symptoms doctors do not refer people to get tested.

They have traced all but a couple hundred cases back to the source, so it's not spreading person to person very well here for now.

Maybe the Aussie newspaper didn't consider SK Bases a "major" sports league (whilst thinking NRL is)
