Why do people get all upset by what Trump says? Everyone should know by now he doesn’t even believe himself. I think he’s entertaining. You can’t take him serious. Just relax and enjoy the show.

I’m not sure but if I had to guess it would be because he’s the Commander-In-Chief of the US.

And this is coming from someone who agrees with most of his policies.

I get why he would want to have a meeting with all of them. Huge part of the economy and it would be in their best interests to work together and pool their resources.

If Trump didn’t give a date he’d be peppered with questions asking for a timetable. Not going to hold him to Aug or Sep timeframe. I like him showing optimism. I don’t expect many facts from him so can’t be disappointed.

Yeah but trump haters only know how to hate trump for everything no matter what anyone else does. Also they can't say who they would have as president to fix the situation.

If sports were being played right now people would be in the stands. You can’t let the people decide whether they attend sporting events. The real problems with the professional sports leagues getting started is television contracts, wanting to honor those contracts with live content, and the ability to coordinate all of the concessions, security, and other people needed to have fans in the stands. Let’s just be honest. They could all play right now if it was just about meeting at a designated place or arena. This is ALL about trying to max out capacity. The nba could play in a high school gym if they really wanted to get the season over with. But the league wants to get parking, concessions, and everything else. Plus the leagues want this for live content. At this point I wouldn’t care if they played in a bunker and put it on tape delay. Sports just does NOT matter at this point. If the leagues are going to play, play and forget about the fans and tv.

The TV money would be huge for all of the sports named.

This delay has a lot to do with legal liability. If just one player ends up extremely sick and in the hospital on a ventilator and even worse, dies, it will be a huge problem.

By saying it's about the concessions and the crowd you are minimizing just how huge a decision this is on several fronts for each sport.

If it was just about legal liability they wouldn’t be worried about coming back anytime soon fans or no fans. There should be zero noise about ANY sport coming back until this virus is eradicated from the world. But that’s NOT what is happening. Does it really matter who the nba or nhl champ is for 2020?? This is about the leagues desires to get started up before anybody else and maximizing profits. To even be thinking about getting sports back is asinine.

Another drawback of starting sports is it will take away the attention the doctors, nurses and police need to fight the virus by watching games instead of working to save lives.

Actually i highly doubt this. Of course in certain places you'll get more young people that would go to a sporting event than old people.

But look at churches that are still open, it is mostly old people that are still attending their religious events, not young people.

I believe that all age groups would be more than willing to go a sporting event, and that is because we still have a bunch of people that aren't taking this seriously.

Full on doubters might have dead loved ones. Wouldn't that be ironic?

The PGA championship could easily be pushed out past august. Everything is just tentative right now.

I know you’re praying that we are all shut in our homes for another 18 months but if advanced models are correct, you’ll be faced with the United States opening up in 2-3 months.

    MLB is gearing up.

not praying for anything like that, no way Sir.

I just want doubters to wake up and face reality. new studies show that 70% of counties in the USA will be severely affected by this pandemic.

BTW one of my good buddies is an Asst GM for a MLB franchise and i am in touch with him regularly. the logistics of what the MLB is trying to do is a lot more extensive than one might think.

Sports reporters are so desperate for any kind of information that they will blow any story completely out of perportion just to get a headline. Have you read some of the garbage they write? Everyday there is at least 2 "Mock Drafts" for the NFL. Sports reporters and writers are rarely correct with anything they write about or publish unless it is news that has already been confirmed. If you believe what Sports reporters tell you, you also believe in Santa Clause and the Tooth Fairy.
