#4 Flaming Hot (3/1) , This 3 year old gelding, outta Khozan, has suffered some seconditis , (7: 1 5 0) but seems to be figuring it as of late. The first try vs winners was extremely impressive, showed the ability to rate and use tactical speed, saved ground from the rail , sat off the pace and niped at the wire. The horse he lost to was INTER MIAMI , who was sent in the 100k Culter Bay here in saturday. Had the lead near the top of the stretch and took a bad step and had to be pulled up @ 130/1. This race is loaded w/ pace and if these connections can repeat that effort, they cash here. Odds are out yet, but I could see this relatively smaller connections get overlooked at the windows. Very strong WP play here. #5 Beyond Gone (7/2), is the only one I’ll use as a backup. 3 year old colt has some serious back class against the the likes of NECKER ISLAND , SOUTH BEND, PEACE ACHIEVED, @ others. Another that figures the trip, off a predicted brutal pace.
Race 3
#3 Not Now Rand (5/2) , is another dropping in this group for red hot trainer/jockey combo. Not a ton of the pace in this field, expect an aggressive ride ,1 of 2 older horses in here running against 3 year olds. #9 Bulkcarrier (8/1) ,5 year old has been cashing some checks lately and very popular at the claiming box, just facing tougher w/ these droppers. #1 Captain Yenner (6/1) , Goes through a bunch of changes, gelded , adds blinkers, and shorten’s up. Barn has good numbers on the adjustments. #8 Newyork Giant (9/2) , Is a contender I suppose, but have a feeling overbet at the windows, I’m looking elsewhere. #3 Nextstop Pokipc (7/2) , 3 year old gelding, Has been a bit of a disappointment to date. Plummets on the drop, where Abreu has some good numbers, turf to dirt, im not sure about as this one is better bred for the green. Tyler takes over for the Ortiz brothers. Has to be left in the mix, but looking elsewhere.
Race 4
#2 Indirectly (15/1) , Hidden horse, didn’t take to the off the track in first 2, ran so good in the 3rd effort they moved way up to 75k , finds a new barn ,who Im big a fan of ,after that effort. #3 Strong Ending (7/2) , 3 year colt, is another on the free fall. Mr. Lynch has this one perparing well in the mornings for this. #13 Traceablility (8/1 AE) , Top Flight connections could sneak this on in at a decent #. know this 3 year old colt late. #12 Plan of Attack (6/1) , First off the claim for Kathy O’connell , has been swallowing up $$$ at the windows, and likely to do the same again here. #1 Threshold (5/1) , Casse does some good work @ second asking. Should take another step forward here today on the drop. Debut race came back strong. 3 of the AE’s are contenders in this field. Will have to see if any get in.
Race 5
#2 Dalarna (7/5) , Goes for 4 in a row, for a 20% Turf Trainer in 217 races. Must Include. Is 3 for 5 here and loves the distance. #6 High Noon Rider (6/1) , Could get the pace setup need to close late, but hasn’t been able to beat DALARNA yet . #4 Alien Invasion (8/1) , Another that’s has good #’s here and At the distance. Will be sent early and could set up the pace perfectly for the top choice. #7 Power Walker (9/2) , Is another potential to be in that pace duel. #8 My Point Exactly (7/2) , Another one to be on the front end. #9 Animal Trick (20/1) , Another pace setter. Will only be using the top choices for the win money. perfect setup with this pace.
Race 6
#3 Candy Machine (8/5), Chad Brown runner was impressive in debut, and looks primed to graduate here. #2 Or’Effice (6/1) , 3 year colt is starting to figure it out. Debuted vs a horse that ran in 100k race Saturday. Note that Saez choose to ride elsewhere. Both Pletcher’s #4 Fried Rice King (9/2) , & #5 Ellis Island (7/2), Logical underneath.
Race 7
#2 Interest (3/1) , Face planted in the last , So the barn removes the eye cups, Saez returns after leading this one on Graduation day. Deserves another chance. There are cases to be made for many in here. However Its just not a race I want to go deep in and back some really poor horses. So even though im not in love with top choice, I’ll single here and be fine getting beat as its going to be a cheap ticket anyway.
Race 8
#4 Off Topic (1/1) , 4 year old filly owns a ton of back class for this comebacker. If this one is any where near ready , will own this field. This woulda been a hell of a difficult race if this one wasn’t included. Lots of positives with the others, but they all kinda group together. Nobody can beat this one if she runs her race.
Race 9
#1 Tapit Ride (1/1) , Another strong one for Pletcher/Saez here. Must use. #7 Cherokee Sound (15/1) , Keeps improving for Wesley Ward, Likes to come off the pace, but this race just doesn’t have much of It, the favorite most likely wires these. But the work out can not be dismissed. Nice saver to the top choice at a big number… Also Straight Exacta in play here.
