Any SOLID signup bonuses you would like to relay to us.....................(whacked the CHASE SAPPHIRE out last year, so don't list that)

SAPPHIRE a good one for those that have not done yet.

Way off base as SAMMY mentioned.

With good management skills, the signup bonuses and points earned add up to $$$$$ earned...….and tax free

Amex had the 100k signup recently for Platinum. Not sure if still around. You can do the chase Southwest companion fare deal with a business card plus one of the Southwest cards and some minimal spend. I think in 2020 you need 125k points.

This. Cash is King. Debt is dumb. I do keep 1 CC for emergencies.

Terrible lesson to be teaching around here, you know most people don't have the discipline to pay it off in full every month. Sammy I'm surprised at you, you're better than this. You can't just pretend to pack up and move to Florida like JJ does vs the CC Companies either.

CC serve a purpose if you can pay it off in full or minimum 3 months if you needed more time. anything over that to me, as i learned the hard way, just builds debt

CC's are great to have in emergencies where a big amount of cash is not available or you do not want to use it for that purchase (hospital, dental, repairs, car issues) but still need to be able to pay off asap

always pay attention to your "available credit" compared to the "total credit you were given" on an overall scale. most young guys don't realize that.

CASH is a poor man's credit card. Just because your credit score is nearing the temperature of the North Pole Does not mean that credit is bad.

Just make sure the account has been open for at least 6 months.

Most companies will do a review after 6 months which sets the stage for an increase.

But if you ask too soon, it can be a red flag to the creditor.

    6 months.

If you have excellent credit, you should receive automatic increases every 6 months. I simply pay off my bills when they come in. You have to be disciplined, something which there is very little of in this place.

Honestly-the Southwest **** CC was giving out the free companion pass after 4K spent in 3 months.....if married that was a STEAL......takes 100K over the card in a year to get that normally....Keep your eye out for that promo going forward......you buy a plane ticket....wife flies free in seat next to you

    The
    SouthwestCompanionPass
is a special benefit for elite members of
    Southwest’s
Rapid Rewards programs. Once you earn 110,000 Rapid Rewards points or 100
    qualifying
flights in a year, you can designate a
    companion
to bring with you for free (except for taxes and fees) on any
    Southwest
flight that you purchase – with either cash or points.

This is what they gave for signing up!!!---for a current card holder, the terms above apply!!!!

You still have to earn 110k points to get it. Next year it's 125k. They also limited the number of Southwest personal cards you can get to 1, so you will need to do a small business card plus a personal card.

I did it two years ago and it's by far the best churning deal out there. I'm going to get the wife to do it for 2020.

The great thing is that you get the companion pass in the year you earn it plus the next calendar year. I got mine for almost two years. Thousands in free flights.

I put a lot of people in houses by repairing their credit with this simple rule:

Get a credit card, secured if necessary, and -

Pay it down below 50% is good for your credit, below 30% is great for your credit.

    It really works.

The credit repair companies string them along for a monthly fee and it's a sham.
