The Tampa Bay Lightning are no longer an Elite NHL team

if you watched them play last night you would see why

one of the Rangers dropped the gloves to fight and the Lightning guy would not even fight

    4-1 loss embarrasing

    skating slow all night

    no sense of urgency

I actually think this year they are taking the approach to save a little more for the playoffs

I don't think they're saving anything. Never recovered from embarrassing first round ouster.

    That could be true too

    Guess we will see

Too much talent on that team for them to not step it up eventually

    Too soft

Stamkos and Kucherov biggest pussies in NHL, can never win with small guys in playoffs

And you're right Hman. They will. It's just that that uptempo hockey doesn't work in April and beyond. You need to make adjustments. This reminds me of many Washington teams that played run and gun and were easy outs in the playoffs. Eventually they figured it out. Tampa needs to do it quicker and not wait 2/3rds of a decade.

Word is Brayden Point (injury undisclosed) and some other unnamed stars on the team are suffering from the same PID symptoms so that has to affect their performance

I don’t recall them winning anything to be considered elite.

They'll do better in the playoffs this year than last year that's for sure.

I saw parts of that game against the Rangers. I could not believe how sloppy they were in the defensive zone. Goalie had no chance. Lindquist played one of his better games also.

Steven Stamkos is expecting to be a full participant in training camp after offseason surgery. "I'm excited about that...I'm at a place now where I'm definitely comfortable on the ice and I'm looking forward to starting camp & getting on the ice tmrw."
