Is (15) Texas -1.5 At TCU The Biggest Trap Game In The History Of College Football?

The line absolutely makes no sense. You should be lining up with Texas -1.5 but we know life doesn't work that way.

What do the oddsmakers know that the public doesn't?

I'm a huge Gary Patterson fan.... but the team hasn't responded like his teams in the past. All they have is home field advantage... which use to be automatic wins for TCU in past years... but not this year.

Anyone know why the line is so soft?

Why is everyone calling this a trap line? Texas's defense is swiss cheese and it's a road game against a talented TCU team, not world beaters, but capable enough.

Actually, TCU opened at -2 1/2 and immediately started to nosedive. I took Texas when the line was a Pick. Now it is up to 2 1/2 in some Vegas books. If it climbs to 3 1/2, a bunch of us are going to have a nice middle.

I have Texas -1.4. Not a game I'd touch. Don't think their is value in this one at all.

The reason why I feel it's so odd... Texas has played some steep competition.

    TCU hasn't played anyone

TCU's QB is inexperienced... has showed this in numerous games this year.

TCU's defense isn't as solid in years past.

    Very odd line.

very strange indeed. TCU is 1-13 as a HF after back to back losses. I guess that and the HF advantage surpassed Texas's 1-9 record after scoring 35 points and playing a school with revenge. Talk about a game with a bunch of intangibles.

    No Trap Game.

    The line is correct.

Texas is over-rated. Barely beat Kansas at home and let them score 48 pts.

We all know what this means Texas wins by exactly one point when TCU fails on the late TPC. Don’t bet Texas -1.5 or TCU ML that is what Vegas wants you to do so they can win both sides. Take Texas ML or TCU +1.5 if you have to bet or just avoid like most.

Not saying this is a "lock" to any extent though. I always go against these "baity" lines & more times than not I usually win.

Might be a bit of a baiting by the linesmakers relying upon some recency bias, where the Public remembers last week where Kansas gave Texas all they could handle, knowing that TCU trounced Kansas 51-14

the Texas Injuries have made this defense incredibly bad

Texas is smoke & mirrors at this point. I don't care how flashy their offense is, when you're defense is playing as bad as theirs has been lately, most any team with a pulse is capable of hanging around, as evidenced by the Kansas scare last week. The week before that Oklahoma dominated the game statistically and left points all over the field. Texas is not as close to Oklahoma as the final score may indicate... And the week before that, crappy West Virginia gave the Horns all they could handle and would have been in position to win the game outright had they not turned the ball over four times.

I'm on the Frogs in this game... this team is gonna be amped. It's homecoming. It's Texas. It's a statement game. They're breaking out the alternate uniforms. Of course TCU could lose, they certainly have their share of flaws, but it's a "play up" spot for them and I don't see Texas as some elite juggernaut.

Patterson needs to let Duggan take more shots if they're going to win this game. TCU is playing it close with a fresman quarterback, and that's fine early on, but they need to exploit the decimated Texas secondary at some point.
