Christian Yelich has been diagnosed with a fractured right kneecap and is done for the remainder of the 2019 season.
Absolutely devastating news for the reigning NL MVP, who might have won that award again this year and will probably still finish near the top of the balloting. Yelich suffered the season-ending injury in his first at-bat Tuesday night at Marlins Park when he fouled a ball directly off the front of his right knee. He finishes with a .329/.429/.671 batting line, 44 home runs, 97 RBI, 30 stolen bases, and 100 runs scored in 131 games. Trent Grisham will take on an increased role in Milwaukee down the stretch as the Brewers try to climb the NL Central and NL Wild Card standings without their best player.
