Why did the last defensive TD not count in the UNC-S Carolina game?

It didn't affect the spread or total, but the guy walked in the endzone just as the clock expired. That TD has to count.

Didn't see it but the box score shows the last play being a sack, so assuming a fumble return? If so I'm guessing qb was ruled down.

They never explained it - but I had the 2nd half under so I was stroking out - they initially even put the TD on the scoreboard then changed it back - they had to rule him down by contact.

There's no such thing as "down by contact" in college. There's just "down".

The QB was tackled and he went down. The ball was picked up after he was called down.

It was forward progress not down by contact. QB was smothered and play was whistled dead on the field before the fumble. Probably ought to let them play on the last play of the game but the ref blew the whistle.
