It amazes me how some teams play so undisciplined as a heavy favorite? Houston played uncharacteristic in my opinion....

I would of taken Verlander out in the 9th.

And you only go to 3rd.... when you know you can absolutely make it. When he was rounding 2nd.... he looked tired. Or he didn't give it his all.

    Conspiracy?? Perhaps.

Vegas just mentioned it was the largest MLB favorite in 15 years.

So there was a game that was larger than this....

Anyone know what team was larger???

Or just maybe they played it like a basically meaningless game that it was? Not a conspiracy, more like a great example of why you don’t lay huge chalk on a incredibly random, mostly meaningless baseball game. .

I get he was going for the cycle, and it's obviously a meaningless game to both sides, but he wasn't even close to safe.

Fox Sports Detroit announcers claim.... the statistician said Vegas confirms this was the largest ML in 15 years. But they didn't comment on who was largest from the past.

Furthermore, another tidbit on this game.... Verlander never pitched from the stretch. Only throws 2 hitter.... complete game.... and still loses. Unreal.

And let's not forget most of that Tiger dugout was fully aware of the odds against them, felt disrespected and played with a giant chip on their shoulder.

I didn't watch the game but I hear Detroit played a sound baseball game despite only getting two hits.
    Good of them.

Another first for the Tigers..... (First time in team history)

First Win Since 1906 in which only hits in the game were Home Runs... Crazy.

Welcome to the age of arena baseball.
An age where middle infielders can hit 440 foot homers where they could only reach the warning track in the past.

If you wanna go by Vegas shit, it was probably some stupid book who had Pedro Martinez at -750. I’m sure LT’s data is much more reliable

    I remember Pedro at -480 but I don't recall him being -500.
Greg Maddux and Orel Hershiser were -440 a few times too.

Just letting you know what they said. I'm just curious what other team was larger? My only guess would be N.Y. Yankees VS Tampa Bay when they sucked bad.

I had a parlay with them involved, which again was stupid, and also took Houston on a live line at -140 when they were down 1-0. That, I think was the right bet as they scored almost right after.

Right I’m talking about brick and mortar places who might have been outliers in 2004

Yeah that could have been it too. Back when Lou Pinella was supposed to turn it all around

Def can’t argue w gettin them live at -140. Obviously didn’t turn out right but doesn’t mean it was a bad play.

My rule of thumb is 4 to win 3 (-133)
If I'm using a -180 or -210 favorite it's in a two team parlay where you cut the books edge.
I'll explain later but it's 1:00 am and your pal Nasher needs sleep.
