    yordan alvarez

he mashed a ball. I grew up in cincy and got to watch dave parker play at corter tech. This kid is built and resembles "the cobra." If you play fantasy he is worth a look.

yes in keeper leagues i'm sure he is. They also have kyle tucker down on the farm + couple of decent pitchers. Wonder if they are going to get another pitcher.

i have a weird fantasy league, very deep AL only so I have had him since last year

have a ton of TB prospects too, they have an incredible farm system but the guys i have are 1-2 years out

Wander Franco(insane for his age, plate discipline is ridiculous), Vidal Brujan, Jesus Sanchez

I stashed Juan Soto 2 years ago in my NL only and think Franco can be better than him. Rays take it very slow with the farm system, but if they keep playing like they are...the organization's hand will be forced (Sanchez and Franco for next year at least)

Reigning American League Rookie of the Year Yordan Alvarez is not in Houston, Astros manager Dusty Baker said. Asked why, Baker said he couldn’t say because of “league mandates.”

    Read between the lines.

The 23-year-old is nearing his 100th career game; his start at DH on Friday was his 97th regular-season game dating to June 2019. He came into the day with 30 career home runs and 30 career doubles (among 110 career hits) and a .313/.406/.655 batting line in 411 plate appearances as a major leaguer. That’s an extra-base hit every 6.85 plate appearances.

More context: Only one player in recorded MLB history has had more extra-base hits than Alvarez in his first 100 career games. His name was Joe DiMaggio, and he had 69 extra-base hits in his first 100 games — 21 homers, 12 triples and 36 doubles. José Abreu is next on the list with 60 extra-base hits in his first 100 games: 31 homers, one triple and 28 doubles.

As far as just home runs, Mark McGwire has the record with 37 through his first 100 games. Cody Bellinger (34), Pete Alonso (33), Gary Sánchez (33), Rudy York (33) and Abreu (31) are the only other players who hit more than 30.

As a Mariner fan, that sucked. Huge Servais fan, but he should not have gone to Sewald there in the 9th. I understand he was one of your best pen arms all season, but the guy was crap against Toronto, and was up and down near the end of the season. Pitching Ray there I thought was okay, but you can't use Sewald there.

Winning this game 1 with verlander on the mound was everything for the mariners 1 out away and he goes to Robbie to close? Ridiculous decision
