Rested Vs. Non Rested Teams in NBA Playoffs

Since 2003 when a team has had 5 or more days off plays a team with only 1 day of rest the rested team is 20-7-1 ATS. Even as a road dog they are 8-3-1 ATS

    Portland +4 it is

Good angle but it's a short fave and they have a tremendous home court advantage w that altitude that I believe offsets the rest angle. If forced I'd take nuggets minus the pts

    Thanks for the post Philly....

Not only that.... Portland just the all around better team IMO.

Denver doesn't have that "die hard" mentality to close teams out. Their style reminds me of Utah.

    Portland should win the series.

Money you're basing that on one series vs the spurs?

Im not a Portland detractor. Spurs were a tough out. I think they win the series vs Portland.

Tonight I say nuggets -4 or stay off the game.

    great stuff OP, thank you

i like portland alot. i just think they are grittier than denver. not a fan of jamal murray (ironic as i'm canadian too) nor inexperienced playoff teams (playoff experience as team, not indy players).... JMO, FWIW

Spurs should of been buried in 5 games. It shows you that Denver lacks and falls asleep on match ups. San Antonio lost because they couldn't keep up with athleticism for 7 games. Portland can match athleticism.... speed... etc.

Denver hasn't proven that die hard instinct you need in the playoffs. Once they show it... then I'm sold. Until then.... I like Portland in the series. I think the series will be 2-2 after 4... each team winning once on the road.

Denver's home court means nothing.... Portland will run anywhere... China to Alaska... it doesn't matter.

Gotcha. well you know i respect your opinion a lot. i think the spurs are pretty good. aldridge, derozan, and rudy gay, amongst others. and IMO Pop is the greatest coach ever. beating them in 7 is nothing to hold their head down about.

let's see. this is what makes it fun. the disagreements and different opinions.

i have Denver winning in 7 games in a pool i am in

    Those stats are misleading Philly.

Take these other facts and stats into consideration -

    - Portland is solid at home and shaky on the road this year at just 21-20, look it up..

    - Denver has been one of the best home teams in the regular season this year also at 34-7.

Oh and every team is rested in the playoffs now as there are no back to backs..

Nuggets win big in this game one tonight at home!!! This will be easy money.. Trust me on this and I will get this one right..

not sure how this turned into denver-portland thread.

    2 observations,

    1) power ratings strongly favour portland ATS. FWIW.

    2) denver has great HFA last few years and portland also is much better at home, so that favors denver strongly tonight.

my gut instinct is that HFA is much more important in playoffs but not sure the numbers bear that out. an alterative is that HFA is much less important in playoffs. basically in regular season, home team always cares alot about home games, often opposing teams don't (subconsciously). in playoffs, everyone cares about every game.

it turned into a portland v denver thread because the OP applied the trend to this game and justified his pick.

a couple of us retorted. I for one believe the altitude providing the strong HCA for denver, offsets the rest that portland has had.

I like Denver to win by about 7 points tonight when the clock shows zeroes.

When I post this boldly it will CASH!! I don't post like this or do this often.. You boys know me.

I should have loaded up on this play with real money and that's my only regrets. I'm a grinder though..

Couldn't load up on a main stream prime time game straight like this on all books.. Never will do that in prime time games on the straights.. This game I was confident with though..

trends are good because they keep folks disciplined, and we all know it is easy to stray from discipline because we have all done it.

while i did not bet on denver, i kind of knew Not to bet on portland. sometimes it's the wagers we do Not make that save us.

portland is a great team and will play balls to the wall in game 2.

Great call Homie. I still like to see how well Denver plays at Portland... and also... if Portland doesn't have an answer for Jokic... you might as well give Denver the win for the series too.

Sad to see how far J.J. has dropped in the mod pecking order. Brings absolutely nothing to the table anymore but negativity. What a fall from grace.
