They said there was a huge order that may have contributed to BTC's recent rise, I think we found the buyer...

Coinstar no trace cuz - coinbase goes through bank accounts - cash app also sells bitcoins by square

Last time I used a coinstar it was out of order. That was fun to get management over to help me when the machine clogged. Someone dumped a jar in there previously and got some earrings stuck. Still not worse than my broke ass having to get help for my ten dollars for booze credited.

I believe they just started doing this - saw it in South Lake Tahoe - eventually it will be in most machines

Word of caution if you're thinking of using Coinstar for those who are privacy conscious (look at the 4th bold line):

Tried this today with $500... so far not so good, but I will update as progress ensues.

Everything at the atm worked fine, put in my money and out came a redemption code. Went online to redeem and it says, okay scan your drivers license and take a photo. Ok fine. Did all that and then it said it was going to send me a temporary password to my email, never got it.

Going to live chat or call them tomorrow as there is nothing I can do now. Sitting with $480 worth of bitcoin (4% fee = $20)

Oh yeah, just as an FYI, the exchange rate was 1 BTC = $5,374.15 as of 7:43 pm PACIFIC STANDARD TIME

Ew. So they're lying. Looks like 5% over market with that rate, for a nearly 10% fee overall. Just another typical bitcoin atm

    Thank you for posting that.

So they want a 4% fee and 5% premium on current price. Not a good deal. Better ways even if this is convenient.

    Giving an update:

So after all was said and done, my $500 cash deposit into the Coinstar machine using Coinme ended up at $458.45 into my account. When Coinme sends the BTC they send through Blockchain which then goes to the book.

So about a 8% fee overall, and once I was able to login to Coinme the process took about 1.5 hours. Could be better, but could be worse.

I was able to buy 0.173 BTC from Suntrust, there is one open in a Safeway near me on Sundays, for $900.83 from bitquick.co today. I often find good offers on there and their fee is only 2%. Deposited at 2:45pm EST, rec'd around 8pm EST.

    5290*0.173 = $915

    Not bad
