    Back in the hospital

    https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/bradfrederickson

What a shitty few months this has been for me.

I found my way back in the hospital last night. I’m having a MS “flare up” they call it. My whole lower body has decided not to work. I have lost all strength and loss of sensation in my legs. I can only feel the floor when I’m standing. I can tell when I have to take a piss but I can’t tell that I’m actually going.

Ive been missing out on work again due to the symptoms and fatigue. It’s just been a real struggle since August.

    Fuk MS

    Go Badgers!

JJ I am currently not on any meds that will slow the lesions down or prevent them. I am still waiting on blood tests from when I was at Mayo in Rochester November 8th. Wtf takes so long? I have an appointment with my neurologist Jan 3. So we will see. But it’s not looking like anything will be ready so I can go on these long term meds. Fml.

MS doesn't get more manageable..it just gets worse over time. One of the worst shit ever. Your mind stays sharp but your body just stops

    Hi Badger,

I mentioned before that MS ran in my family. My cousin recently died from MS and my other cousin got it about 5 years ago. He uses a cane to walk now and was an athlete before. He's getting better slowly through diet and exercise. Awhile ago, an Italian doctor seemed to cure his wife of MS by sticking a catheter in her brain and basically draining it of some blood. It is risky but his theory was that MS was an overload of iron in the brain and it wasn't being released properly throughout the body. When you donate blood in general, you clear a lot of the iron out of your body. I would think about just doing a standard blood donation every month and watching out for high iron foods. Keep us posted on your progress.

While many medications have been found to limit the exacerbation rates in relapsing MS, disability in patients with MS continues to accumulate over time, highlighting the need for better therapeutics. The growing body of evidence establishing that abnormal iron deposits accumulate in MS, and that this iron could contribute to pathogenesis, indicate that iron chelation may be a new way to ameliorate disease progression. While iron chelation could yield benefits, it poses many challenges in this patient population.

**There seems to be two iron chelators, pretty recent drugs, called
    deferasirox and deferiprone.

Thanks guys. It is a real struggle. Not only physically as I was getting around with a walker and wheelchair when needed, but it drains you mentally and emotionally to. Thinking back to all the activities I used to do and now knowing I probably will never get to do them again. Unless something magically happens.

Only thing that helps is the steroids. But that is not a long term solution. But it’s been once a month now I have these flare ups and my body just doesn’t want to work.

try anything and everything... doctors don't know it all, and western medicine can be totally different than eastern/rest of the world solutions... i have a client who is an acupuncturist and that is always an option

since eastern medicine says it is created by "dampness", maybe you could hang out in the desert of vegas? (at least have some fun if nothing else)

Who said you have to go to a blood bank? You know how many doctors don't even know about all the new theories on MS?

Been researching shit like this for over a decade. F do you know bro? Trying to tell me to stop when I have family afflicted with the situation. Would drop you right now if I saw you in front of me.

Steroids helps because MS is an inflammatory condition. Read the link I sent you dude. Or don't. Do as you please. Did my part here.

I guess neither do the scientists who dedicate their lives to studying MS? And post these studies? Fukkin moron. You're not trying to help with shit, because you don't know shit. You don't read, and you're not personally affected by the situation, where as me and him are.

Go to sleep. Can have you removed from this forum real quick if I want.
