    Vikings Fire OC John DeFilippo

He was one of if not THE favorite to get Packers coaching job.

This might actually not hurt those odds, since firing has more to do with philosophical difference with Zimmer, who is a ground and pound guy while DeFilippo comes from Andy Reid tree, so has pass-first mentality.

It's a bit too late for that, isn't it? Minny is in major trouble if they do not defeat Miami this week in Minny. A win should be enough to get them into the playoffs, but they finish at Detroit and home against Chicago, who will be fighting to stay ahead of Dallas and in the #3 spot.

Should've thought about that before giving trashcan Cousins $150M to run a ground and pound offense .
If what you say is true , Zimmer was entirely over that pathetic excuse of a game plan last night . Cousins didn't even attempt anything deep until the 4th Qtr .
Anyone watching the game had to be questioning WTH is this play calling ? I sure was all night .

What I do not quite get is why Vikes hired him in first place, unless Zimmer had no say in hiring? It is not as if their offensive philosophies were a secret.

Seems DeFilippo was trying to please Zimmer too much, assuming he was calling the plays and Zimmer was not overriding him. He is better when his is given free reign, like with Eagles last year.

Yup. Kirk Cousins is a shitty qb and Vikings SB window closed the day he signed his contract.

Cousins agent did a great job selling the Vikings on him, even though he cannot win the big games. He has managed to win just 3 away games since 2017, while losing 11 and tying one. His agent sold a McDonalds Big Mac for the price of a Porterhouse Steak.

Free reign with the Eagles? He was their QB Coach, not the OC. Reich was the OC and fairly sure Pederson was doing the playcalling.
There were rumblings in Minny that Flip was more concerned about showing off his own abilities to land a HC job. It was all passing and abandoning the run, to prove to prospective clubs he was all over the high flying offense craze in the NFL. He forgot that actually winning games gets you noticed quicker.

Groh is on the hot seat in Philly and they might be willing to take Flip back as their new OC, rekindle some of their Superbowl fire.

OC had 2 of the better wide receivers in the game... not to mention... a decent TE. A great RB too!!! And you couldn't score a point in 3 qtrs?

    Someone should beat his a$$.

    Packers wouldn't hire that fuk.

Certainly it wouldn't have anything to do with the Ops handle .
No way you lay 7-8 pts with an inept offense that the HC wants to win 14-10 , 20-17 . Zimmer doesn't want to have to score 30 pts weekly .

Stefanski will get this offense back on track

Look at GB how they responded

    At home

Running game centric, play action will be usable once more

Cousins back to 70%, moving the chains

Defense might pitch a shutout too

I can see a 27-13 type game here

He made Michael Vick and Nick Foles look like Pro Bowl quarterbacks over the years and Rodgers would certainly appreciate his philosophy. Minnesota was just a terrible fit for him.

It's not the coordinator's fault. It's the QB. Look at Matt Ryan. He had 10 different coordinators and no one was fired. If the QB is a dumb brick it doesn't matter who calls the plays. Cousins played horrible last night and the head coach refused to throw him under the bus for his pathetic performance.

Hes got more yards, more completions, higher % than each of the last 4 years...

...oh and hes also got more wins, more starts.

Rodgers is a very good QB but he's uncoachable and if he's immobile he's very average. Personally I think AR best years are behind him and GB made a huge mistake with that contract...thou I understand it's Rodgers that keeps GB relevant in media but let's be real, that team lacks depth and talent.
