World Cup 2018 Players to watch! GROUP A

Got a few nice ideas to sparkle more interest in the upcoming world cup... this will be a daily thread for 8 days until we cover the 8 groups THEN I have more ideas

    URUGUAY'S LUIS SUAREZ (BARCELONA, SPAIN)

Luis Suárez is the all-time top scorer for the Uruguay national football team, with 50 goals[1] in 96 games from his debut in 2007. He scored twice as a substitute in an 8–0 win over Tahiti at the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup, bringing him to 35 goals, surpassing the national record held by his teammate Diego Forlán.[2]

Uruguay have a really good team.

Too bad for them Forlan retired because they would look awesome in a 4-3-3

Doubt it. You need two wingers for that formation and none of these 3 guys is used to play on the wing. All of them are actually a typical center forwards

Salah just had such a remarkable season, one for the ages. Even more impressive considering he doesn't have the talent of guys like Messi and penaldo and wasn't even regarded as the best player on his team to start the season

I still believe that lewandowski is the only viable option for the golden boot at those odds

I hope so, last eurocup was the worst

Guys like griezmann and neymar also good chance to score a ton. Not sure ab the odds on them

Griezeman and neymar also have better midfielders to create scoring opportunities than Poland

It's a double edged sword, Poland is so talent stricken compared to the big teams that they will force feed lewandowski

True. It's directly related to that stupid decision of qualifying 24 teams to the final tournament. Too many teams in there that lack quality, therefor boring games. 16 teams was just the perfect number.

Lewandovski is a legit candidate for top scorer. He has enough skill and will score most of Polands goals. But the real question here is how far do you think Poland can get? Because if he's gonna play only 3 or 4 games, that's probably not enough to beat Neymar, Grizman or Thomas Muller, which have a goof chance to play 6 or 7

Griezeman I like over Neymar, the injury uncertainty with Neymar puts me off abit.Gabriel Jesus is worth a punt, just as insurance for Neymar.

Lewandowski is in the same sort of predicament as Ronaldo, where they have to carry all the workload.

Great points honeybadger. I think mueller overachieved last world cup coupled with the fact that Germany had alot of raw and unsure young talent in schurrle and gotze as their other goal scoring options.

That's not to say mueller isn't a good if not borderline great player I just think his goal scoring will not be as high this world cup even though Germany is a lock to reach the semis if not more

I think Poland will reach the knockout and then have a coin flip chance to advance given consistent high performance from lewandowski as a fixed variable. If not then goodnight and good luck

I don't even like Muller. But looking at what they have available up front, I think he'll be their go to guy once again.

+1 pretty much this, have some futures on Brazil (on commission work not my account) but I hate Neymar... never liked him much even when he was in Barca (me being a Barca fan), after he mocked the club I just hate his guts.

Fukk him, hope he breaks a leg.

I dont like Muller much either but who else they have really to carry on goal scoring duties?

Guy is good, just NOT MY TYPE of preferred striker... I like 9's like Lewandowski along with a more dynamic 9 that can play as a 7 as well (like Griezmann)
