Jets Will Pay Whatever It Takes To Get Kirk Cousins
According to Rich Cimini of ESPN, the Jets are willing to pay “whatever it takes” to sign Cousins. That is, of course, unless the Redskins decide to place a franchise tag on him, which seems unlikely. To put things into perspective, if the Redskins do franchise tag Cousins, he would stand to make $34.5 million next season.

The Jets and general manager Mike Maccagnan have the financial wherewithal to make a serious push for Cousins, as the club is currently projected to have more than $70MM available in 2018 cap space. As such, New York should be able to offer Cousins a hefty 2018 payout that other teams may not be able to match. Per Cimini, the Jets will also attempt to sell Cousins on their “championship vision” and stress scheme familiarity, as new offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates enjoys a relationship with Cousins.
If the Jets aren’t able to land Cousins, they’ll have to explore other options including veteran Josh McCown, who is open to returning to New York for the 2018 campaign. If the Jets do re-sign McCown, they’ll likely need to select another quarterback early in the draft, per Cimini.
I don't mind Cousins, that isn't what I meant. QB play isn't what hurt the Jets last season. I thought McCown played great. Jets have many issues, not sure they need to spend all their money getting a QB when they have so many other holes to fill.
I don't think there's much chance that he signs with the Jets. Cousins is a midwest guy and I don't think he would feel comfortable in the media circus of NY. I think Minnesota is the darkhorse in the Cousin's race.

best fit is Minnesota and it's not close...they have by far the best team out of those in the running.

He isn't going to be the QB. You are bringing up something that isn't ever going to happen. McCown would be signed again and he played well last season. Scoring points wasn't the main concern last year it was giving up points. Jets defense was shit. Jets don't need a QB throwing 50 times a game. They need to sure up the defensive line so they can actually get pressure on the opposing QB. They were 20th or worst in about every defensive category.

nothing on the internet is to be held accountable for, but if i could get odds and could fast forward to the future, i'd bet one of the other qb's have better careers than either of the top 3
