Randle might be the best player on the Lakers roster they need to trade him.

He sinks even one of those threes and things look that much better.

Assists look good for Ball, but damn, he needs to make his shots. Or just stop shooting.

That's what I'm saying. He sinks just a couple more shots, maybe 1 or 2 of those threes, then it's pretty good production and a double double.

Maybe he can get to the line a few more times a game as well.

How about playing some defense? Had turnovers at critical junctures too.

Yeah, I didn't watch the game and the stats only tell part of the story. I was thinking that when I mentioned getting to the line. He's obviously not driving to the hole a lot.

The question I have with Ball, is will he be as good or better than Russell? Magic said he got rid of Russell because he wanted a leader. I think Russell is becoming a leader in Brooklyn. He's also a great passer, a good defender, and a good shooter. I'll go out on a limb and say Russell will have the better career.

Interesting, only the 2nd player in NBA history to put up 25, 10, and 5 in his first road game, the only other to do it was Oscar Robinson on the same exact day 57 years ago.

Hmmm context is everything though. Bledsoe should have destroyed him, but he gave a cool effort. Two days later Bledsoe admits on twitter he wants out. Basically playing poorly so he gets traded. Suns defense disgraceful through 3 games.

Suns defense has always been bad, nothing new there. I doubt Bledsoe would purposefully play bad defense on a 2nd game rookie, nobody wants that kind of attention. But if what you say is correct perhaps we shouldnt see anymore near triple doubles or triple doubles for that matter from Mr. Ball all season long.

He'll get triple double (whoopdyfriggindo) but he wont be scoring 30pts again.

Funny how people make such a big deal out of triple doubles. He rebounds well for a guard yes. Just say he's a good rebounder for a guard and leave it at that. Any starting pg in the NBA can get the pts/ assist double-double.

If they could they simply would. So you dont think Ball will have another 30 pt game this season? Cmon. Doesnt really matter, he's a team player, wants to distribute, how can you hate a young guy for that? The young guys we normally see are me first type players, its refreshing to see someone who'd rather get others involved. There are many players not in the league who have the talent to be in the league but they played the wrong way, by being selfish, Ball not that guy.

I don't hate him. He's a good rebounding pg with court vision. Russell is better.

He can defend a lot better than Russell. I guess it just comes down to team need. If your team needs a PG who can lead by scoring - Russell is your guy. If you need someone to defend, push the ball and rebound - Lonzo is it.

I think it's easier to coach a decent shot than it is to teach defense, awareness (which is what rebounding is) and court vision.

The advantage Ball has is he's proven already to be a good leader. Russell meanwhile is a babe in the woods.

Both have good court vision. Both lack quickness. You can't discount the value of shooting -that's what the NBA is about nowadays. By the time Ball learns to hit threes at a respectable rate Russell will be knocking them down with precision.

After going 3-of-12 in the loss to the Wizards, Lonzo Ball has the 2nd-worst FG pct through 12 games in the shot-clock era (via @EliasSports)

The thing about Lonzo is, it almost feels like he doesn't enjoy basketball.

He rarely smiles, and when he does it seems forced.

Hopefully he's not just playing to make his daddy happy.

like this is a surprise ?
who actually thought Lonzo would be a high percentage shooter
All of his passes are vanilla
    Very unimpressive player
sure he will get assists , he likes to do basica dribble moves to either side of the court and pass it to a guy
for a quick shot , but there is nothing, I mean nothing impressive about his play
I guess he can pulll down some boards

4 pages of chatter on a rookie pg... what did people on here expect out of him? Playoffs? Average a triple double?

Basketball people aren't surprised by his performance so far, only dilettantes that watch sports programs and read TMZ.

Im not saying he wont put up some numbers on the stat sheet, he will
hell he kinda has. Its just hes no better than the average point guard
Now if his shot was wet , then it would all change because he has a knack for picking up boards

He can shoot just takes longer for some to adjust to new 3 pt line, he was money in college. Bird averaged about 25% from 3 for 4 years straight before he really got going, it wont take Ball that long, but still his main calling card is making plays. Lets say he plays 10+ years then its silly to judge after 11 games. I see talent as Ive always seen in him, once he gets adjusted more the boxscore will look differently, just turned 20.
