In early October 2000, I said Al Gore would win the popular vote and W, Bush would win the electoral vote,
In 2008 I said that Obama would easily beat John McCain.
In 2012 I predicted the exact number of electoral votes that Obama would get.

I am a self-proclaimed expert in American Presidential history, I have studied the American Presidency for many years - reading any and all materials on American Presidents. (I have read at least one biography on every President - and some were very hard to find, but I've read multiple biographies on many of them - Lincoln is the most, I've read at least 20 on him.) It's just something I enjoy - like gambling.

Trump beats Hillary in November because she implodes. The Democrats will only have themselves to blame because if they'd nominated anyone else they'd have won easily.

At +180 he is a great bet.

As a presidency history buff, you would know there hasn't been back to back Dem presidents for a long time.

Along the lines of history, Dem policies do better with economics than Repub policies, but people are tired of
one party after 8 years no matter how good the previous admin did. Think Bill Clinton.

Another piece of history is, Ohio has picked over 80% of the past presidents. Hillary won Ohio.

You have to admit the last couple of election cycles has thrown history out the window.

From a betting perspective, the prices now are great for hedging.

Trump taking lead in swing states and in "blue" states. Odds reflect hesitation to call this election a wrap for a candidate that is so unusual and unpredictable - it reflects risk. I dont think Trump will be without some baked in risk until the very end, no matter how soundly his advisors handle him.

I would venture, at this point, that Hillary is the risk. She is the one making gaffes and having health breakdowns. And, interestingly, were it not for the public having phone cams we would know none of it.

If Trump doesn't fuk up in an obvious way in the first debate (one thing is certain - backers of each candidate will be saying the opponent fukked up) then it will be Hillary +180 the next morning.

I maintain she's been the candidate lugging around liabilities from Day 1. OP was correct on how the Democrats fukked up. She went essentially unchallenged in the nomination process - had Biden (and/or Warren and another challenger or two) been on a debate stage with Hillary, her nonsense would have been front and center and the vetting process would have produced a better candidate. God knows what the Clintons did to intimidate others from running. Her party is paying that price today.

on the other 2 I got nothing. I used to often talk politics with my mom - she'd ask my opinion - and she heard all of those predictions, but she died a couple of years ago.
