I consider California's impending collapse to be a warning to the rest of America

I have been to California many times....every major city....California to me is like an entirely different country with different values than the rest of the country...the results of which have proven devastating to the state. The state government is drowning in debt the city governments are all either bankrupt or drowning in debt despite the tax rate being by far the highest in the nation and the unemployment rate is through the roof (3rd highest unemployment rate). The # of unemployed in California is larger than the populations of Nevada, New Hampshire and Vermont combined. Despite the fact that California's teachers are by far the highest paid in the nation California students rank 48th in math and 49th in reading.

Businesses would be crazy to set themselves up in California as they'd be taxed right into bankruptcy....when it comes to new business creation California (unsurpisingly) ranks dead last.

Crime in cities like Oakland and LA is at epidemic levels...thinking back to a camera crew that literally got robbed of their camera equipment while trying to film the scene of a robbery for the news in Oakland.

The rich (the only ones who can afford to live in California without applying for welfare) are fleeing the states ever-increasing skyhigh tax you to death system in droves....the illegals (non-English speaking criminals and welfare abusers) who are dead broke flood in to replace them...since near zero of the non-criminals could ever hope to make enough to support themselves there of course its automatic welfare for life for them and their kids. California is a populus state with 12% of the US population living there....but contains 33% of Americans receiving TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families)....60% of students attending public schools qualify for free or reduced-price lunches.

California's response? Pour gas on the fire....not only do the same mistakes as always but double down on them...increase taxes to near communist levels...this is actually the biggest lesson to learn for the rest of America...you cant just increase taxes over and over and over and over as the answer to everything...bc eventually businesses simply get the penetrate out!

Californias seem to only worry about one thing FAGS (perhaps they are biased since SF and the rest of the state has so many)...if you're a f\*g then head to California and get AIDS (though the pharmacy in that state may run out of AIDS drugs with all the fags that live there). The legislature and population (except for the exiting rich) doesn't give a shit about it's unbelievable deficit, crime rate, unemployment rate, destroyed public education system....but if you're a f\*g it's the place to be....you could give some guy a rim job on the subway and if someone said that's disgusting are you crazy they would probably be arrested for a hate crime....if you like a big AIDS filled rooster shoved up your ass California is the state for you.

The rest of America take note of California's mistakes and its results...decide if you want that for your state and the rest of the country....we know of course overwhelmingly how California will vote in November....if your economic future is as a welfare abuser bankrupting your city/state/country and your political concerns are only about fags being able to piss allover the women's toilet rather than having to suffer through using the men's room you should vote likewise or better yet for the rest of us just move to California and expedite its total collapse as a lesson to the other 49 states.

As a economist il put it this way.

Money is a piece of paper we put value on. Debt is a number on a computer screen. As long as we can keep adding numbers and people value money the scheme can keep going.

Also in the long run banks are loaning money they dont owe. The monitary policy is a big scheme. Along as everyone plays everything will be fine.

I have been to California many times so you are going to have a hard time convincing me marijuana is illegal by any means in the state of California....there are medical marijuana shops in every city and to get a medical "card" or whatever they call it they have special marijuana doctors that are like 100 bucks...tell em anything (yo doc my leg hurts weeds what helps....oh well you need a marijuana card) and they approve you for medical marijuana. The tourists sales would be the only ones with any difficulty buying legal marijuana and there would be additional taxes from those sales but not nearly as much as you think....not even a ding in the deficits of either the state or major cities budgets.

I agree. Its like that everywhere. It is just worse in California. Something needs to change. What we have been doing isnt working well. and yes its people of all races causing these problems before starts screaming racism. People who can work (=almost everyone) should be working. Washington state isnt much better.

Sir you need to put down the blunt for a minute and let your braincells regenerate....if money is just a piece of paper then why is Zimbabwe's currency inflating at a 100% every week....you actually have to write a check for double the amount bc by the time the check clears the money is worth half as much. First off the state of California doesn't issue its own currency...they have to pay their debts through taxation (of which they have by far the highest in the country) and borrowing money (bond issuance of which they have the 2nd lowest credit rating in the country behind only Illinois). But at the federal level you have to understand it's not the piece of paper that has value it's the belief that you will actually be able to repay that debt. Think of paper currency like credit...as long as you got a great job making tons of cash and are successful and things are going great sure your credits fine you can buy anything you want on credit bc they trust you'll pay it back....but when that job gets lost and you are too far in debt and fail to repay those creditors then your credit declines and hyperinflation ensues as you issue more of it to repay the interest on those ever-increasing debts.

If its just a "piece of paper" then print up enough to make us all billionaires....I wish it worked that way my friend but this is not heaven...this is a world of limited resources and we're living in a country which dominated the post-industrial revolution...a country where 54% of Americans worked in manufacturing in 64....39% in 1994....now 9% in 2016.

What if I there is a bank that when it gives you a loan say $40,000 to someone and that person only paid back 75% or $30,000 and the bank didnt lose $20,000 rather they gained $30,000.

Your understanding of credit with regards to the central banking system in the US is absolutely zero....why not just issue 100 trillion dollars then and get paid back a trillion and make a trillion and make us all billionaires in the process....BC YOU CANT FLOOD A SYSTEM WITH WORTHLESS CURRENCY...the Fed regulates currency issuance so as to avoid rapid inflation but also to have enough available currency to stimulate economic growth...a regulated normal amount of inflation is good for the economy.

Its a flawed system of slavery that your congressmen gave away and have let stay in place over 100 years, why do the cucks continue to let themselves be hijacked by the hooked noses.

Well I dont want to really talk about how much the hook noses have ****** America with respect to the Fed bc it is essentially government owned with all of the Fed's profits being transferred annually to the Treasury and it's relatively well run in comparison to the average fully governmentally run and regulated system which are run like complete dogshit.

The hook noses have certainly cost 1000s of Americans lives and trillions of Americans dollars bc for some unknown reason we fight Israel's wars for them and they've got a lot of war (despite being wars we should never be involved in and that have no bearing on the security of our country) but considering that they own the media and as a result all our almost universally totally corrupt US Congressmen that is highly unlikely to change bc as I mentioned earlier even though Congress has like a 10% approval rating the majority cowardly and silent Americans will continue to always chose between 1 of 2 totally corrupt choices in every election rather than risk rocking the boat.

It's due to the illegals, nothing more. Arizona at the bottom too. Not a real reflection of the education system.

Agree 100%. It's why everything goes overseas too. And people have the balls to villify companies for that instead of the ridiculous tax levels. USA alone is oppressive enough with the taxes, you want to F yourself harder by doing it in CA? No chance. And this country needs to stop shitting on rich people. YOU NEED RICH PEOPLE. They are usually the main job creators and they normally pay way more in taxes than you do.

Sure did. CA very lefty and will probably be forever. They don't understand that they're the problem, and are too self-righteous to ever figure it out.

Ah Jesus, really? Great points until you went all John Rocker. This is why conservatives lose credibility all the time -- the universe thinks they're a bunch of hate-mongers, and too often somebody comes along and proves them all right. Anyway, CA not the gay mecca it once was. Saying SF is a gay hub is about 20 years past its prime. SF is a homeless hub now. I will say that I don't think gays for the most part are very wise on political issues unless they directly affect them. Like most people on the left, they don't understand that your area not having any money quickly starts turning your area into a shit hole. They're more about human rights, which is important too, but you can't put all of your focus in one area like that. Or else this happens.

I do love to visit California, but I agree that it's FUBAR at this point because it takes an educated voter base to turn things around, and CA will never have that ever again.

Once the start-up mavericks in Silicon Valley figure out what taxes are (already happening) and San Diego prices everyone out (already happened), what will you even have left? White poverty way up north, minority poverty everywhere else, and a lot of places to buy meth.

I laugh when retard armchair economists think taxing marijuana is the solution to all economic problems. First of all pot smokers are worthless forms of life who are drains on society. I laugh when people make that their #1 issue. We have a bad economy and politicians who don't know what they are doing but we have morons like you who are single issue voters and only care about weed.

Second, you actually think the revenue raised from taxing marijuana will go to paying down the debt? No penetrating way. It will go to expanding existing government handout programs and creating new ones to get even more people dependent on the public dole.

Businesses are leaving California in droves, many for the friendlier pastures of Texas. I think of an example of a client of mine, Toyota. They've been in California since they set up operations here in the U.S. over 50 years ago. Apparently they've had enough because they are in the process this year of moving to Plano, TX.

There are some pot smokers who are not underachievers. But they will never talk about their weed use because they know they have nothing to gain by talking about it. They also have dozens of other things in their life that they do to talk about, because they are successful.

If someone brags about smoking weed or talks about it all the time, that is the pinnacle of their life. They have nothing else going on in their life that matters, they are failures. Hence why they seem to be obsessed with weed.

People like to talk about the pinnacles of their life, the best parts.
