    Von Miller Asking For $22 Million A Year

    Broncos franchise player Von Miller is seeking a $22 million annual salary, according to Bleacher Report's Jason Cole.
    As enormous as that figure may sound, Cole spoke to two GMs who believe Miller could easily net $24-25 million a year on the open market. The Giants just signed Olivier Vernon for $17 million a year and his talent doesn't come close to Miller's. At this point it's a near certainty that Miller will become the highest-paid defensive player of all-time. Miller will play under the $14.1 million franchise tag unless the two sides agree to an extension before the July 15 deadline.

    Being the main player responsible for handing the Broncos the Lombardi trophy, they should pay this guy whatever. You can't buy good players only reward them. Miller should be rewarded handsomely here. He's a future HOF and Elway needs to get this done. Remember, the Broncos defense went from good to great as soon as Miller joined the team.

    They had a good defensive group. On an island without a good group, he will be nothing. Losing Travathan was already a big loss. Denver is going to go downhill fast, but at least they got their win. Can't take that away.

    if you "reward" him with cash, you basically penalized the rest of the team and fans by giving them a team that cannot compete to win another super bowl.

    a cap hit that big could cripple the team if they have an off draft.

    in other sports you can over pay and get away with it. But the margin of error is SOOOO slim in the NFL

    and you can have the greatest player of an era on your team but still be a big losing team.

    you can't pay 1 guy so handsomely when you got 52 others to put around him that also receive a check

    he can ask but its up to the team to actually pay him it or think hes worth it. Why not ask the owners make billions of dollars their not hurting. If stupid enough to pay why should we care. Look at the Jets new Gm not gonna pay Fitz stupid money or Wilkerson thats just what he thinks is fair or not. Everyones perception is diff and team concepts
