Anybody have the balls to Fade Scherezer coming off a No Hitter?

    Okay hear me out....

Aaron Harang is the Phillies ace pitcher. This guy isn't going to blow you away with his stuff BUT he knows his strengths and weaknesses and he knows how to use his stuff. He stays on the corners and rarely leaves pitches down the middle of the plate.

The Phillies bats have been on fire this week. Especially Maikel Franco. They have already taken 3 really solid pitchers to pound town this week Sabbathia, Pineda, and Wacha. When they faced these 3 starters they got atleast 10 hits a piece off of each of them.

prior to this season Scherezer had never thrown a complete game in his entire career. Now he has thrown 2 complete games in as many weeks.

Will this new heavy work load finally start to wear on his arm?

I know many here are advocates of fading a pitcher coming off a no hitter... any chance Scherzer gets hit hard today?

Contrarian players are usually your winners most of the time in sports

i don't want to contrarian but Phillies are +188 here and they have been beating some good pitchers lately.

i feel like Scherezer is due for a let down coming off a no hitter and back to back shut outs.

Always fade a pitcher coming off a no hitter

    Its the rule of thumb

    His arm might be tired

He throws with a lot of energy on each pitch

    Bear good spot here

    Anti-streak bettors are typically losers.

More money to be made following hot pitchers or teams than fading.

    I like mad max today.

I don't see Max getting shelled. Given Harang's excellent home numbers I see the under as a worthy play. BOL

He has given up 1 hit in 18 innings!! IN his last start, he didn't throw too many pitches in that No Hitter! Scherzer's ERA for season is a miniscule 1.76!

Did the OP really do any research?? Harang has lost his last 4 starts and the team has lost his last 6 starts. His ERA in those last 4 starts is around 7.00

    I like the under

he threw a 1 hitter then came back & tossed a no-no, perfect gm if not for hitting a dude

Phillies might strike out 20 times

Screw arm strength. You think Sherzer does not want to break records and give it all he has and throw practically 3 no hitters in a row??? Especially to a garbage team like the Phils. This may be the most excitment he gets all year. Players will be laying it all out for each out for him because they support him as their leader and ace. He may not throw a no hitter and let up a few runs but Phils get buried, simple and plain.

are you aware the phillies scored 30 runs from Sunday-Tuesday? Against Wacha, Pineda, and Sabbathia??????

this ain't the Phillies of last month.

don't worry about it. It's over. I will say this.. Nash started it. Before he attacked me out of the blue and called me an idiot we used to be E-Friends. We started off friends for about a year.

Yes I am. As I stated in terrors thread this morning +1 1/2 might be the play. But my facts about nats and pulling for sherzer and the team going all out stand true. 50/50 bet but definitely too much juice on nats.

Dont forget mostof those runs on the bum ass Yanks pitchers away.

i still havent decided if i want to bet on this game.

even after the Phillies went on that Sunday-Tues offensive streak they only scored 2 runs on Wednesday.

Harang has looked weak lately. I don't care if I'm getting .50 on a dollar, take the Nats!

Now Ryne Effing Sandberg resigns! Interim manager is Pete Mackanin. Usually teams play hard for a new manager, so is this the time to fade Scherzer??? It makes sense to me since I bet on the Nats earlier. I swear if the Phillies come out and beat the Nats, I'm going over Sandberg's house to kick him in the nuts! Since when does a manager quit in the middle of a season?

No way I am fading Scherzer. F#ck the fading theory, Scherzer has something to proof even after a no-hitter. This guy is a competitor in the purest form. Fade him and you will pay the price. You guys would really trust Phillies offense to put up runs on the scoreboard? I would take Nationals offense anyday vs Phillies offense and let's not forget who is on the mound for the Phillies. Aaron who??
