I'm backing Guthrie as my 2nd dog today. While his record is 0-2 at Busch stadium he seems to have gotten the bad end of pitching duels. Lyons pitched well against Royals a few weeks back but closer look shows he probably could have lost just as well. The biggest factor for me is loss of several key bats in cards lineup.
I can't find one single thing to back a play against Grienke here other than less than desirable numbers with this ump. He has never lost to San Diego on the road or at home and they play in the same division. Probably goes back to when grienke got choke slammed back in the day but for whatever reason he sure saves some extra fuel for the Friars
After a decent day I got blown up at night with Dodgers and Reds push.
I'm keeping it light but pounding harder on two plays unless something pops up later.
Elias going for Seattle has alternated good and bad starts so hopefully he continues this pattern after a less stellar performance last time out. Mccullers has been solid and the Seattle offense still slumbering despite yesterday's showing. The umpire coupled with getaway factor are clinchers for me.
Brasil has been on a defensive mission ever since giving up 7 goals to Germany in the world cup semis. They have given up 1 goal vs France and 1 goal against Austria. In 8 other matches since their opponent has been completely shutout. This team has seemed to embraced less scoring and more defensive philosphy. Peru is decent but got whooped by a Chile squad who was shutout by Brasil this year.
