Byron Scott to coach the Lakers next year according to a guy i know

he says he has "inside info" from a reliable source but doesn't everyone think they do these days??

there are so many potential names out there who are huge in the NBA and college that they can go after.

    byron scott? really?

who believes this and who believes it's a crock of shit?

Everybody knows a guy...who knows a guy....Byron Scott is a re-tread bum who's already ran how many teams into the ground? jjGold has a better chance of knowing the next Laker coach than you friend

It's a recruiting year so gotta go with a player's coach. He was well regarded at one point when they passed on him.

Anyone else getting the feeling that Pat F. Riley is going to reappear in LA in near future?

I went down the list of top coaches still alive... Pop, Thibs, Phil, and then Riley. It would be a great story but he really does have the best job in the NBA. He only came back to steal one from Van Gundy and keep Shaq from eating too much.

I respectfully ask that you please refrain from making such asinine statements now and in the future. Scott led the nets to two straight finals appearances after which point he was run off by Jason Kidd. Compared to the last two nitwits Buss hired to run the team, Scott would be a hell of an improvement....

If Stan Van Ron Jeremy were coaching the Heat in 2006 they would have lost to the Pistons again or definitely when they were down 2-0 to the MAVS and down 10 pts in the 4th quarter of game 3 .

    RILEY was the difference

Maybe so but I dont blame Stash. He had no support and was ran out by Shaq and Riley. Wade was out and hurt in that last series. Then the next year Shaq came back fit for the only season since Orlando.

Riley is in malibu all the time in the summer. I see him 1/2 a dozen times a year just walking around. Met his son james a few times as well I think he also has a house in Malibu. Still say no chance he leaves the heat gig anytime soon.

Yea I cant see him running a practice everyday. He goes from beach to beach.

My theory... He surprises everyone and keeps Woodson on. Ultimate zen move. He waits for free agent help and then pulls a Riley and mows over Woodson. Hey, Woodson shoulda been fired this year and he collected another paycheck so no one will blame ol Phil.

I would have picked Phil to do this over Riley before. This is a guy who got rich off a kiss and tell book about what went on in the Lakers locker room. He came back and coached the same kids after he sold em out.

Calipari has a shot at the Laker job

The Lakers are all old and Kobe Bryant is washed up

Whoever takes that job be prepared for rebuilding and losing a lot. The Lakers only chance of becoming a firepower is if LeBron goes there
