    hedge help

    hello all

    i have a problem trying to hedge sports bets

    how do I get these bets to cover (hedge) so I dont lose and possibly win a little

    for example i place these bets (odds calculated into figures shown);

    2.50 $ placed to win 2.37
    1 $ placed to win 3 (plus 1 back)
    1 $ placed to win 3 (plus 1 back)

    is there a way to cover?
    1 $ bets would really return 3 $ in profit so I'd be losing money

    Note that only one of those bets will be selected to win

    Im guessing I'd have to risk a small amount on plays like these with a larger chance of profitting unless I can solve this

    You can't cover.
    Your total odds return 99%, so no matter how you divide bets (idealy 2.30/1.1/1.1) you can't make a sure bet.

    Change your avatar dude. Seriously.

    If you want to hedge your bets, you must ensure that the amount that you receive back from the bookmaker is the same, regardless of which team wins. For example, suppose you decide that you want $200 back in the example you gave. Then you would risk $102.67 on team 1 and $50 each on teams 2 and 3. Since you spent $202.67 on your bets and will get only $200 back you have a guaranteed loss of $2.67 regardless of which team wins.
