Bodog: checks by courier changed to USPS with 1 month delays

I requested a check by courier 8 days ago and have not received it, so I sent them an e-mail asking about it. Note that I requested a check by COURIER, and it was sent to an address that is for Fed-Ex (I cannot receive USPS at the address they sent it to!).

    >>>
    RESPONSE 1:
Thank you for contacting Bodog Customer Service regarding your payout. We are unexpectedly experiencing longer than usual payouts at this time. Your check has been sent, however it will take approximately 15-20 business days to reach you. We will be sure to provide you with the USPS tracking I.D number as soon as we receive it so you can keep an eye on when you can expect delivery.

    RESPONSE 2:
We apologize for the change in your payout delivery, however all of our payouts slated for FedEx delivery have been changed to USPS as we are no longer able to send checks with FedEx. Please note that USPS Priority Post will not require a signature upon delivery and that your package will be left in the mailbox at the address supplied.
    >>>>

So they change the terms without telling us, and send checks with 1 MONTH delays. I checked the payout screen now and the "priority check" is now the option, no more courier.

Needless to say, I'm pissed. I don't even know if the check's going to get to me at this point. I don't have a mailbox, and I don't receive USPS at the address they have.

Tell them to cancel the check

This is absolutely ridiculous. Someone messed up and did not send it Fed Ex like they were suppose to. Noone is blocking Fed Ex shipments from Costa Rica, or Antigua to the U.S. right now.

Tell them to cancel the check and send it again Fed Ex or wire or you are going to close your account.

You don't necessarily have to follow through and close your account but I would do a lot of complaining directly to management about this.

SBR, if this is true, please consider dropping Bodog's rating. An A+ book does not behave like this.

They don't get it. The address "supplied" is NOT for USPS (I'm on a campus with no postal service, must get a PO Box). I have no idea whether I'll get the money.

I can't seem to figure them out. Sometimes they're SO generous and on the up and up (buying out WWTS and Bowman's and giving us 10% bonuses in the process, covering ** fees for a short while), yet other times they're shady as hell (canceling bad props at the last minute, the "no 2pt conversion attempt" fiasco, changing payout methods without notification).

I'll leave some dough there for soft props, but I'll be glad when I get most of my money out.

There is no USPS service with a tracking number that takes 15+days. They are full of shit.

I agree. They send it by a method different than what I can agree to, and are now lying about it. They sent it a week ago but still expect to get a tracking number?

They just told me that if I wanted to cancel it because they sent it to a wrong address, then that would take an extra month (on top of sending time).

This is low, and not what I expected from Bodog. That'll teach me to take my money out gradually.

It's not even worth playing at a book that takes a month to get paid.

    Thats ridiculous really.

...and with no reload bonuses, bodog is becoming useless fast now.
I always thought they deserve A+ even with the late lines and shit, but not anymore.

They probably had to change check processors and USPS is what was available.

    Knick,
Have you called and asked someone to correct the issue? They will get your funds to you.

If these types of issues exceed your tolerance level then you probably would be best to withdraw all of your money, at least for now.

Yeah, I've been in discussions with them. They're willing to cancel what was sent and resend to an updated address, but I want to give their first package they sent to me a chance to get here (there's a chance USPS can figure out from my name and zip code to get it to my PO Box instead). I'd rather try that then cancel it now and have to wait upwards of a month more to get it corrected.

I'm surprised no one else got tangled in this issue.

I'm sure some others aren't happy about not getting a Fedex. They could have done a better job keeping customers informed too.

Bodog will always be a good book in my opinion for bailing out betwwts and saving my ass.

Recently I requested a large payout and they said courier was the fasted way. They told me it would be 5 biz days.
Two days later the email they sent me said at least 7 biz days. After 7 biz days I called them and asked where my money was and they said they would have the accounting department trace the package and get back to me within 24 hours. 24hrs pass and I call them and they say here is the tracking number. I ask them when the package was sent and
they said yesterday. I check with fedex and the number was not in the system. They had yet to even send the package.
The package arrived 18 hrs after they sent it.

It took about 16 days to get payment which is not good but that is ok. The problem I had was the fact that they bold face lied twice! Their CS had always been stellar.

Whats up with these great companies that spend tons of money on having an irreproachable reputation and they turn around and chuck it out the window. People should understand not getting payments quickly, but lying or not keeping people updated is going to cost them tons of money.

    Awaiting Payout

I am in a similar situation where I have four payouts starting 1/29 that have yet to be received. All have been converted to an electronic payout, which I received notification of via e-mail, stating the wire will be received within five business days. I have yet to see anything, all except the 1/29 payout should be in my account per the timing in their e-mails. The 1/29 payout was actually the last to be converted to a wire payout and I received notification of that earlier this week; the rest had been converted from check-to-wire much sooner after the payout request. I called last night and got the generic it’s being processed and could be there as soon as tomorrow; didn’t really believe him but not a lot I could do.

Have some concern about my bank blocking an incoming wire as they had blocked an outgoing one to Party Poker a couple of weeks before they shut off the USA. I successfully deposited money in Bodog last fall but haven’t put anything in since. I don’t suspect the blocking to be the case but it’s a possibility.

I am definitely starting to get worried and have $5K out there in limbo.

Bodog would seem to be impossible to get payouts from at this point, I have been waiting since early February for two payouts with endless excuses from Bodog...none of which are logical or make sense.

A once great site, dead for US players.

If you have any serious money on that site, all I can say is you will be lucky to ever see any of it if my experience is any indication.

For the guy who can't get US Mail delivered to his address I suggest this... There is a central post office somwhere in your area where the mail is processed... You can put a hold on mail coming to your address at the Post Office.. If anything comes in they can call you but that is when bodog ever gets around to sending it... As I said in another posts they must be having processor problems they didn't expect to have happen... It's not just one book but quite a few of the top books...

    UPDATE: 3/10

Just received ** Payout Info and cashed my first payout from early Feb. Good news!

It looks like Bodog to be fair is still paying out, I had lost faith but maybe they will get their issues fixed. Plan on at least a month and a lot of hassles though.

I requested a payoyut of over 3k on 4/1/07. It started that they wanted verification of cards so i sent that, then they did not recieve and it had to be sent again. then it had to be converted to courier because the original payout was gonna take over 10 days which was too long. So they sAID courier "Will take 2 days". well as you can see it has taken more. I called and there response was they had a glitch and there couriers payouts had a mishap so it will probably take longer now and plus with the final four payouts all the payouts are taking longer. Are they serious???? Isn't there anyone who regulates these business or a complaint agency that does anything about these kind of things since i see it happening to quite a few a people. This kinda is on the verge of fraud no?

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, the owner of Bodog is only half way through a twenty year ban for selling worthless stock in Vancouver. That means he cheated people. So do you believe leopards can change their spots or not? If I had money at Bodog, I would take a hard look at the owner's history.

Bodog bought betwwts to save their asses, not anyone else's. There has been no shortage of info available that sportsbook owners are no longer safe from extradition in Costa Rica, thus the move to Antigua.
Again, Calvin is an admitted fraudster, on a fairly large scale. I believe this whole "billionaire" thing is part of nothing more than another massive con job. He's got lots of money, no doubt about that. And it came from guys like the poster above who claims to "hate Bodog casino". But that money is in Switzerland, or Isle of Mann or any of the offshore banking havens that guys like Ayre use. That money is not available to pay the few bettors that win. It's hidden, and he's not going to drag it out to pay bettors. As many others have said, winning bettors are paid with the post up money of others. Can you say "Ponzi Scheme?" Now cue selected Bodog employees to call me a retard and blame anyone but Bodog for slow payouts. Please wake up, people.
