Either the Seahawks or 49'ers will miss the playoffs

That's how the NFL works. Both of these teams are already hit by injuries and preseason games haven't even begun. Both of these teams have young Qbs. I lean towards Seattle missing the playoffs. Harbaugh too good of a coach and the NFL will be able to gameplan for Seattle's offense this season.

Doesn't sound like Willis will miss any games, he played through similar injuries in 2010 and 2007. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100...te-hand-injury

Both Seattle and SF will make the playoffs. Rams will be competitive but they aren't winning the NFC West.

    9ers suffer another key injury...

The San Francisco 49ers have been hit with another big injury.
Defensive back Chris Culliver tore the ACL in his left knee during practice on Thursday and will miss the 2013 season, according to NFL.com. Culliver's injury comes two and a half months after the 49ers lost wide receiver Michael Crabtree to a ruptured Achilles tendon.
Culliver was injured while covering a punt during a non-contact portion of practice. The third-year defensive back was carted off the field with tears in his eyes, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

    Could easily miss the playoffs.

Don't put too much stock in losing a backup CB. CBs are a dime a dozen, especially backup CBs.

St. Louis' team SH*TS on the Cardinals. At every position besides WR. Offensive line, quarterback, both teams have mediocre at best running backs, both have stout defensive lines (but STL wins), decently stout linebacking corps, and Peterson is a badass but so is Finnegan and Janoris Jenkins. Rams are going to be putting a hurt on some teams, especially if Tavon Austin steps up and they can get some production from their young receiving core.

If their O-line stays healthy, I would not want to mess with Dahl, Long, or Wells.

Yes, the Rams do have a nucleus of a good team, but their primary weapon on offense is a rookie WR.

I agree with you, but Austin may be something special for them. They are just an exciting team to pay attention to, they are definitely under the radar. I feel a lot of underdog lines for them are coming this season so pay attention, last season Rams went (all by memory) 9-6-1 at the spread? May be wrong but it was close.

i agree with sploof wholeheartedly....they did go 1-0-1 against niners last year.....if they get production out of richardson and pead.....they added jared cook...if brian quick can develop(bradford too)....they have some pieces on defense....good corners...solid guy in the middle....guys like quinn and ogletree can get after the passer....brockers is stout....

Exactly. As good as Tavon may be, he is still a rookie. And it's not like the Rams have some great running game. It's either going to be the small framed Darryl Richardson or Isaiah Pead who had like 10 carries last year.

San Fran probably has the best offensive line in the game. They have a very good defense and very good coach.

I think Richardson is a decent back. Bradford loved throwing to Amendola. I said the Rams would be better than people thought last year and they were.

I think he's saying that If Atlanta or NO wins, the team that comes in second in the NFC South (i.e. ATL if NO wins or NO if ATL wins)will be a wildcard from that division. I don't see what's so crazy about that statement. There likely won't be a wildcard from the NFC east bc the division winner will probably win 9-10 games at best, and the NFC North teams are overrated.

Cards Qb situation last year was dreadful. They still won games and almost beat Atlanta. Their defense and special teams will be good, the offense will be better with Palmer. They aren't a playoff team, but they will be better. Thanks for your unbiased opinion on the topic

The Cards O-line last year was dreadful, they've done little to address their NFL's worst o-line. Palmer will be no help if he can't stand up in the pocket or gets knocked out of games or the season like Kolb last year. The Cards had a good pass D last year, so what did they do? They gutted their secondary, letting go of 3 of 4 starters (Adrian Wilson, Kerry Rhodes, William Gay). Face it, this is a team in transition with a new coaching regime, don't expect much in year 1.

Arizona has obvious flaws but Carson Palmer is better than the 3rd stringers they had last year. Plus Bruce Arians got the most out of the talent he had in Indy.

The 49ers and Hawks look to compete for the division title, with the Rams/Cards looking to fight at the bottom. If you are picking one of the bottom then it should be the Rams.

Atlanta benefited from a weak NFC South last year with NO having an off year, Carolina and Tampa. I think the NFC South will be a lot better this year.

    Atlanta has the better QB.
I think Dirk Koetter did an awesome job last year, one of the best OC's in the league.
    Atlanta has a better offense
Atlanta is very good at home, not as good on the road ( same with Seattle).

Seattle's offense was only 17th best in yards but was 9th best in points. This is because their good defense gave them good field position.

Seattle was #1 in points defense, Atlanta was #5 but Atlanta gave up a lot of yards and I don't believe their D is that good. I think part of it was the weaker competition.

    Seattle's defense is clearly better.

Atlanta added a RB and is trying to improve their secondary. Seattle tried to bring in Harvin.

Atlanta is better coached in my opinion and has the better QB, they are overall better at executing. They also have a win now attitude, bringing in Osi, drafting DB, S. Jackson. Atlanta and Seattle are both super bowl contenders but I think Atlanta is more likely to reach the SB than Seattle.
