Will Houston or Memphis tank Wednesday game

Memphis really has nothing to play for against Utah because they can't get higher than a 5th seed.

Houston on the other hand would drop to the 8th seed if they tie with the Lakers at 45-37 because the Lakers has a better conference record and they would tie 2-2 for the series. Wouldn't it be in the best interest of Houston to play the old Spurs verses the youthful OKC at the 8th spot. Obviously none of that will matter if Memphis eliminates Utah in the early game.

Yes. Right now the spurs are playing like a 9 seed. They're decimated with injuries, the season has worn out their tired little legs and they're waiving the white flag, loud and proud, just waiting to be put out of their misery.

Houston has to play SA to have a chance. They have no shot against OKC.

Houston for sure. What makes more money than Lakers being in period, and then Harden vs his old team...

Beard vs OKC. Lakers eliminates Spurs. A good story line that equates to money

    Memphis ARE playing for homecourt

Last year Celtics got 4 seed because they won the atlantic, but since 5th-placed Atlanta had a better record than them, the Hawks had homecourt.

Granted chances are not great Clips lose in Sacramento, it is certainly possible.

Yeah but how seriously motivated are they going to be for that game on a big iffy. Utah on the other knows they will be eliminated from post season with a loss. I guarantee you Utah will be hustling and playing that game like it's the NBA Finals, while Memphis might be on their so what attitude.

Memphis did rotate quite a bit today only giving 20-25 mins to zbo, gasol and conley. Would still be very surprised to see them lose at home to utah.

Houston just loss to Pho. Should have won that one if they wanted the 6/7 seed. U can't really tank if your team sucks.

Situation is much different in the Lakers game though. A loss to the Lakers and they're guaranteed the 8th seed against the youthful OKC Thunder verses the aging Spurs.

They could have avoided this by winning against a lottery team.

That lottery team has play them tough all year, the Suns just match well against them. The Suns beat Houston twice including this one, and barely loss the last one that came down to a Jermaine O Neal goal tending. Houston should match up better against the Lakers because of their youthfulness, something the Lakers struggle against.

Sry, if u a good team you beat bottom-dwellers when needed. Lakers will be tougher because they have size inside. You can't drive and kick, if you can't drive and score.

I have a feeling that Grizz will win in a blowout. Jazz will be nervous while Grizz will be in a relax mood. Expecting the more relaxed team to play better.

Not to mention the Grizz are an infinitely better team. Have the Jazz even beaten a playoff team this year on the road? Golden State not long ago and the Lakers when they were having all their struggles but other than that

No need to overthink this one. Lakers ML is a solid play. LA will play at their best to avoid OKC and if both the bigs show up, it'll be a problem for Houston as they'll be forced to play halfcourt.

Houston won't tank. They may not (probably won't?) WIN, but they will be going all out to try and avoid OKC.
