Who would you say is the most passionate player in NFL history?

If you could pick one player in the entire history of the NFL, who would you say was the most passionate about the game?

Me personally I gotta go with Brett Farve.

A case can also be made for Emmitt Smith

Probably best two choices from my lifetime of football. Peyton will be overlooked because he's not as outward about his passion, but he and Ray are probably both up there.

Reggie White and Brett Favre are up there too.

Favre? The guy who waited until the last minute to sign with a team so he wouldn't have to go to camp or do anything in the preseason?

    depends on the criteria....

if by passionate you mean someone who plays through injuries or someone who treats each play like its his last.

if latter, has to be troy polamalu.

Dick Butkus was in another world when he played.

    Not that many others weren't.

I guess Ray Lewis is today's version of that.

He was the original gold standard though.

For a non linebacker if I had to only choose one, it would probably be Brian Dawkins.

    Peyton Manning as well.

    Ronnie Lott

He had the tip of his left pinky finger amputated after the 1985 season when it was crushed by tackling running back Timmy Newsome, and a bone graft surgery wouldn't have him ready in time for the 1986 season

    End thread

lol at the people saying favre. just because he wasn't injury prone, that doesn't make him passionate. any player willing to let himself get sacked on purpose so his buddy can break the record doesn't deserve to be mentioned.

can you imagine jack lambert stepping out of the way and letting someone score

To go along with this, when I think about passion, the last thing that comes to mind is money. Favre admits playing the last year for the Vikings because "the money was to good to pass up." That being said, in todays era, Ray-Ray gets my vote.
