    I come from a 90 year New York Yankee family....

    My daddy rooted for them his entire 79 years that he was alive.
    My grand daddy rooted for Gerhrig.
    I have been rooting for them my entire life.

    This current team with Jeter and Mo down, is as bad as I have ever seen, and I am not being hyperbolic either.
    I was a little kid when Jerry Kenny was booting balls, and Celerino Sanchez, and Horace Clark, but those guy tried.

    This team is a disgrace, Swisher wants a eight figure deal, can't even hit his weight, and sucks in the outfield, Nunez can't even pick balls up, even Tex is playing soccer with grounders.

    I don't know nasher. They had some pretty pathetic teams in the late 80's to around 1990 if I remember correctly.

    I guess I think this team maxed out its potential, given they're playing without Mo. They're built for 10-6 wins in June, not 4-2 wins in October.

    this might be the worst STRETCH of baseball theyve played in a long, long time but this thread is ridiculous

    I remember going to games with Scott Kaminicki Scott Sanderson Mel Hall Jesse Barfield Alvaro Espinosa and steve sax Steve Farr Steve Howe. Only saving grace was donnie baseball. Those late 80's teams were awful.

    All things considered, salary, talent, they are playing like the Horace Clark teams that were supposed to suck, this team is supposed to not suck but is sucking like the old Yankee teams that suck.

    I think relatively speaking and all things considered nasher, this team got as far as it should -- if not a step beyond.

    They may be flaming out in this series, true, but they weren't going to beat the Tigers. Detroit has too many guys in their prime age wise, two (or maybe three) elite players, and arguably the best starters in baseball.

    I knew the tigers would win it all, because that's the stuff that happens to milwaukee teams.
    sabathia leaves and wins a championship, prince fielder leaves so he pretty much has to win the championship on a team that is no better than milwaukee was last year.
