Is A-Rod The Most Overrated Bigtime Athlete Of All-Time?

    He's gotta be.

He's fukkin terrible when it matters the most.

His career stats are nothing more than a steroid laden illusion.

Every year, I watch this guy fukk the Yankees in the playoffs.

It's like watching a bad movie over and over again and it won't stop playing. It just repeats itself.

    Fukk this guy.

Don't anybody ever compare this fraud to Jeter. Jeter is 100x the player A-Fraud is.

He's so bad now, Girardi has to pinch-hit for him.

Yankees need to get rid of him ASAP!

Hate A-Rod, but hundreds of players on steroids didnt come close to matching the career he's had. He was really good at baseball for 15+ years.

Well not overrated because he had massive numbers

The steroids is what killed his legitimacy

    He is a mental weakling.

Barry Bonds used to be the same way in the playoffs. Bonds was better towards the end of his career, but it was obviously aided by steroids.

2 more season A-Rod reaches 3000 hits and 2000 RBI's. Already 600+ HR's..300+ stolen bases and a lifetime batting average above .300 and hundreds of millions of dollars.

I just want one of these guys to come out and say they stuck a needle in their ass for the money.....people have stuck far worse things in their ass for far less.

    2009
    .365 BA
    18 RBI
    6 HR

who won it that year I don't remember

Overrated but a clutch year that won a ring is enough to make a career

yes that is true. his bat speed is really slow now. he is having to cheat to catch up to average fastballs. since this is the case the question should be why are the yankees batting him so high in the order? seems like bad managing to me.

    Mad? I wouldn't say that.

I would say it is more like frustration combined with disappointment.

The Yankees are supposed to be able to lean on this guy.

    He always disappoints.

He is now having trouble hitting fastballs.

And not 95+ MPH fastballs either. He's having trouble hitting average 90-92 MPH fastballs now.

    The guy is fried.

    No steroids=total failure.

Spot on, I've watched his whole career. Closely watched.
I was at the game, up close and personal when he took Colon deep three times and drove in 10 runs at the Stadium.
One of the greatest hitting exhibitions I ever witnessed.
That particular game, he was on Colon's smoke, when Colon was in his prime and could bring it like Bob Feller did.
That game he was as locked as I ever saw a hitter, precision timing, not just heat, but the yakkers he had timed too.
I've seen tons of hitters in my time, that was the best htting display I ever seen or will see.
Even the only out he made was croaked to the warning track in death valley.

Fast forward 7 years, he's a mere shell of a hitter, ever Aaron Cook fooled him 2 months ago.
He needs to overhaul his approach at the plate, or he'll be nothing but a .270 hitter with 20 homers a season going forward.

Guys, steroids dont do as much for you as you would think when it comes to hitting a baseball.

I do think ARod is one of the biggest choke artists in the game though. THeres nothing more i hate then a really good player choking on the big stage.

You know whos the man? Robert Horry. Big game Rob. Theres not a player i respect more then Robert Horry. Hes the opposite of most guys in sports. Just a average player in the regular season but when the playoffs come around he would just shoot the lights out. It was crazy.

He never tried when he played for Phoenix...Suns fans hate him. Never fit in here. After the towel throwing incident when he threw it at Danny Ainge, strangely he was traded 3 days later. He actually annoying as hell when he played here (after the trade) because Suns fans booed him every time he touched the ball. Plus, he's a whiney baby anyway.

He's just become a very ordinary player the last few seasons. But let's face it, prior to that you just can't argue with his numbers, and while his postseason numbers are not as good as regular season, he still had some really good postseasons too.
