I didn't have anything lined up so at first just whatever cheap rooms I could pick up...

For the most part I'm now getting enough comps to cover the room charges (and probably will start pulling some free rooms again shortly if I really wanted to stay longer) while occasionally I'm still having to cover the odd night here and there (for example I forgot about Labor Day till the last minute so I had to go a little "off-strip" and stayed in UNLV's Conference Housing for a few nights)...

If I end up staying here I plan on find something a little more permanent but right now I'm leaning heavily towards leaving in a couple weeks to do some more traveling (although I've been saying that since before the bash)...

Although I would prefer a system where people received living wages instead of having to depend on tips to supplement the slave wages they receive from the Opie's of the world (for example why couldn't dealers get a small share of already excessively high rake in live poker so they still have an incentive to do their job well (to keep the games running) while getting an appropriate bonus during those times when the games are good?)

In light of this I tip as considered necessary (with larger and more frequent tips for good service while having no problem stiffing for poor service like I did yesterday after having to do my best to stomach my way through dry on my first plate at cheap poor quality breakfast buffet at the Gold Coast without anyone having bothered to ask what I wanted to drink)... Regardless the +EV lifestyle in general seems to do a amazingly great job of minimizing your exposure to those activities where society has devolved to point where juicing the wheel has become an expected requirement for mostly silly shit...

if you want free/cheap breakfast there's plenty of better ways to get it. $4.99 all you can eat at stations (gvr, red rock, etc)

A pizza that was just delivered to you might not be untarnished. When I was 18 years old I delivered pizzas. What did I do if I got hungry? Open the pizza box while driving and eat a couple peperonis or sausages, then push the cheese or other topping to cover the holes. It was a fun job.

Not sure understand all the negative comments The food was still good (obviously checked it out before I ate it) and hadn't been touched... (Well I think it was supreme and it appeared to be missing the mushrooms those might have been picked off )...

I was going to take a picture of my score before consumption but I was hungry at the time and my stomach won out...

The only stranger's hands I want to take the chance of having contact with my pizza is the cook/baker. Sure you could get a slob who isn't big on hand washing but most will keep the hands clean if they're handling other people's food, won't they? The fukker picking his ass or nose for fifteen mins waiting for his pizza to arrive doesn't give a shit. You get the leftovers that he had his paws all over.

I like fresh bagels. The freshest at my supermarket are in bins that you pull out yourself and bag. The ones bagged on the shelves aren't as fresh. They have tongs for use to pull them out of the bins. Ever since I saw an old man digging through the bins with his bare hands, I refuse to buy those fresh bagels. Either the ones not as fresh or none at all. You see, that old man wasn't the baker.

But the other side of the token is that there are no $1.99 buffets and probably a lot less choice of eating places. Casino buffet is about $25, and considered really cheap for the quality here in Sydney.

If the lowest paid workers are paid properly, then just about everything becomes relatively expensive.

I've often heard both American tourists and Australian travelers comment that in general service levels are better in the US. Although I suspect a lot of that comes from US waiters buzzing around refilling water and stuff like that a lot more, and hotel workers looking for useless things to do so they can get another tip, so US travelers find it strange it doesn't happen as much here.
