Jason Kidd got a DWI last night.

Celebrating the Knicks stupidity I guess.

Why do I almost never see MLB players get hit with stuff like this? Pretty amazing considering there are far more MLB players than NBA players.

I guess whites (and new to the country hispanics) are more well behaved than blacks.

But this isn't really a race issue. More of a culture around the games. Even the white guys in the NBA sometimes become thugs just from hanging out with the people they do. If Jason Kidd played baseball he wouldn't be doing stupid shit like this. Probably be out having a nice wine and going to sleep by 9.

    Welcome back to NY Jason.....

While the Knicks were making tough decisions on who would be their starting point guard, the heralded backup, Jason Kidd, was arrested Sunday morning on suspicion of drunk driving after crashing into a telephone pole in Southhampton, according to Sgt. Michael Burns of the Southampton Police Dept.

Kidd, 39, the only person in his 2010 Cadillac Escalade, was treated at for minor injuries following the single-car accident that occurred at 1:56 a.m. near Kidd's summer home in the Hamptons, according to police. He was treated at Southampton Hospital, transferred to Southampton police station for processing, and then arraigned on a misdemeanor DWI charge, according to police.

Kidd was released after being charged.

Kidd, the former Nets star and future Hall of Famer, signed a three-year, $9.5 million deal with the Knicks on Thursday. He was under the impression that he'd be backing up Lin in a mentor role, but the Knicks reached a deal for Raymond Felton on Saturday and indications are Lin isn't coming back.

Kidd pled guilty to a domestic violence charge in 2001 stemming from an incident involving his ex-wife, Joumana. He is now married to Porschla Coleman, a former model.

Kidd, a 10-time All-Star, led the Nets to back-to-back Finals appearances before winning a title with the Dallas Mavericks in 2011. He chose the Knicks this summer over the Mavericks.

Well they aren't perfect either but all less common. Take a look at Miggy and Hamilton. NHL look to Heatly. Shit happens but yes, more educated and well rounded.

    Wow.

Google Matt Bush, and Bobby Jenks. That is just one team in the same year.

The fact that there are more MLB players than in the other sports, is in fact the reason you do not hear about who is getting arrested everyday. More players = more players irrelevant on a national scale, thus ESPN does not think you care about the 5th releiver n the Rays driving drunk from th strip club.

Are you really arguing that MLB players don't get into trouble with the law less than NBA/NFL players?

The chances that we hear about an NFL player hitting a stripper in the next year are 99%
The chances that we hear about an MLB player hitting a stripper in the next year are 1%, if that.

Seriously, how hard would it be to pay a teenager $100 to be chauffeur for a night. Teenagers would line up at this opportunity to drive NBA players around.

No that is not what I'm saying. You asked " I wonder why I do not hear about more MLB'ers getting into trouble, compared to NFL/NBA."

    And that was my reponse.

I don't think your response is accurate. There is a small news article every time anyone in a professional sport gets into legal trouble. It just doesn't happen that much with baseball.

Castro railed a drunk girl who called it rape after the fact and that was a big news article for a while, but no charges.

Really? Its pretty common for your average joe to think they are above the law. Now throw money fame, and a sense of entitlement in the equation...really not that much of a stretch...i highly doubt kid or any of these guys drive because they cant afford a cab ride or simply couldnt pay someone to get them home...the effects of alcohol probably dont cater to ones wealth or status...

Well the topic was DUI's. Your question was why do YOU not hear about more MLB players getting DUI's/DWI's, and said b/c irrelevant players do not make it to ESPN.

I'm sure there are small blurbs about who is getting into trouble, whether the player is irrelevant or not, but are you checkin every newspaper and website to search who is getting DUI's?

NFL/NBA players play on smaller rosters, threfore more noticable, and more likely to make it to ESPN all raising the probability of you/anybody hearing about it.

You are overthinking it. MLB clubhouses generally have more strict rules and their players are just smarter. I'll admit it helps that a lot of MLB players leave the country in the off season so that keeps them out of trouble here.

But overall, they're just smarter and more well behaved.

David Freese, Miguel Cabrera, James Loney... just off the top of my mind. Josh Hamilton getting absolutely hammered but not sure if he drove afterwards.

Jason Kidd would never play baseball. It doesn't fit his psycho, intense, wife-beating demeanor.
