Any deal where the customer's funds are returned is a good deal.

only the 9th thread, way to go

PokerStars Rumored to Have Purchased Full Tilt Poker

Chili Poker CEO Alexandre Dreyfus on Tuesday posted on his Twitter page the following:

"PokerStars buys Full Tilt for a consideration of $750M, including settlement with DOJ and full balances of players ($330M). I'm impressed."
Dreyfus has ties to France and it is French businessman Bernard Tapie who has been looking to purchase Full Tilt Poker.
Then came another interesting tweet on Tuesday from IGamingFrance:
"Laurent Tapie confirms deal is off for FTP buyout, insinuates external sabotage over DOJ negotiations. More to follow." IGF also confirmed that a statement is reportedly due out later today: "Just spoken to Laurent Tapie re: Stars-FTP buyout, no comment, he'll put out a release later today."
According to PocketFives.com, Groupe Bernard Tapie was expected to issue a statement shortly.
A purchase by PokerStars might provide the hope American players and those worldwide were waiting for since Stars, unlike Full Tilt Poker, paid its players in full immediately following the US Justice Department freezing of accounts belonging to both company after indictments were handed down last April.
    This news is developing…

I'll boycot stars , all they care about is getting the player database. This will do nothing to help make poker legal. Both sides are shady

That deal was squashed shortly after the indictment came out.

i had 2.9k in pokerstars when it went black. got my check about 6 weeks later. i really hope full tilt grinders get paid. i know a few guys who have upwards of 100k stuck in full tilt. it would great to see some of these guys get paid by the time WSOP starts.
