If Boston loses this game, Bobby Valentine could get run out of town tonight.

Think I saw some fans in the stands sharpening their pitchforks and lighting torches.

@JasonWSJ: Now does everyone understand why Red Sox pitchers drink in the locker room?

    Heh.

Silly thinking there...."unless you are counting on a two-run home run in extra innings, laying runs as a home team, which is more often than not the favorite, means needing home team to win by two or more runs through only eight innings of at bats -- a decided disadvantage which explains the vast difference in price". Around 30% of all MLB games are decided by 1 run. Because the bottom of the ninth inning is not played out when the home team is winning, it leads to a lot of one run ball games finishing in the middle of the ninth inning. The home team gets one less at bat to score the extra runs that could have won you a run line wager. Simply put, taking the RL on the dog is more profitable long term, unless one can at least find even money on the fav RL.
