Just stating facts. The guy is a mere shadow of himself on the forums compared to 7-10 years ago. The kid out of wedlock doesn't seem to have a strong support system.

Came with two COA's and as mentioned earlier, in a manificant frame which alone had to cost $160+....................

Looking around the internet, see many copies selling anywhere from $1,000-$7,600 UNframed...........listed in the DALI price guide at $6600..........

Feel I got a decent buy at $535.............should take it down to PAWN STARS.

fish you properly got a lithograph for 500 dollars originals Dali s are going for 75000 dollars and up interestingly Dali is believed to be the next big thing in the art world, I have several works of art valued well into , well nevermind, one was a gift, given to me for doing something for someone and giving them 20 years of their life back. The work is from a southwest painter in the early 20th century its value is at least 90000 dollars, forget gambling the real hustle is in antiques and artwork lets say fishead you just said bingo.

Who is Salvadar Dali? Salvador's alter-ego whose paintings go for significantly less money?

Dali cranked out lots of art of dubious quality towards the end of life because his family forced him to do so for profit. If it's a later quality piece you probably paid market value for it on top of buyers commission.

Done a little wheeling in the art market in the past..........made a few bucks.

This piece is simply a litho limited to 350 pieces......................most gallaries have it listed between $1400-$5500(WAY TO MUCH).................not to worried about making a profit at a later date on my small $535 investment.....................some fool out there will give me at least $600 for it.

Art is in the shitter. Guys can ASK any price they want, people are going to be buying at 10-15% of retail. $540 is probably on the high side. If youre at an auction and dont know anything about art and you win something, chances are very high you over paid. If it is strictly an art auction the chances are 100% that you overpaid. That's common sense. If guys are there to buy art, especially to re-sell and youre winning auctions against them youre not going to make a profit.

Will keep the forum informed if and when I do sell the piece................

    It's a Print obviously...probably a fake...originals aren't afforded by dumpster divers

The value depends on the condition, the medium and the subject.

Oil paintings will sell for millions.

Watercolors and Drawings: $100k if you're lucky

    Prints (authentic) $500-$20k

One sold for 275 last Spring.

if you are gong to keep it then it is worth what it is worth to you. Thats how it is with everything.

He hasnt been dead long enough for it to be really valuable. Plus that painting isnt all that old either.

Wanti, I've purchased many paintings at auction and overall made a profit on 80% or so............and the one's I have not made a profit on have lost me very little money.

Been attending auctions all my adult life..............................

Did research before purchasing/bidding on the current DALI just purchased......... top price was going to be $600 going in.........so very confortable with the final $535 total price paid.

The upside on a limited edtion hand signed Dali in a $160+ frame with two reputable COA's at $535 is way above the downside..........................
