    HDtv troubleshooting

    For all you sbr techs.....

Bought a 40 inch sony led google tv. I hooked up my dvd player fine but i cant seem to get my satelite to work with it. My directv was hooked to my old tv with a coaxial cord. I plugged this into the port on my new tv and it wont recognize it. Under the setup wizard i cant get the satelite to work it just says no input device recognizable no matter what imput im
On( hdmi 1-5 or video imput). What is the problem? I dont have a hdmi cable is that it? Cable connects on a coaxial cord though so i dont think thats it. Im a noob with new tvs so please help me out.

Coax is the problem. You need to use at least a composite cable or component with a new tv. Try just pressing channel you'll likely get snow and then go to the menu and set up for a channel search.

Thanks duece. I just used the cable that was already being used. Pressing channel dosent do anything. Its just on a screensaver that says check external input or select another input. On all inputs it says the same thing

Direct tv uses only 2 coax cords, 1 out to wall, 1 out to tv. I use composite cords for my dvd player and it works fine
