My wife and I are both 33 and just had our first child. I would say it's the perfect age. When you're in your 20s, you're still a kid. You're still figuring out who you are. You're still partying it up. Things start to settle down in your 30s. So that's my vote.

25 in our family. My grandfather was 25 when he had his first child (a son). My father was 25 when he had his first child (me, a son). I was 25 when I had my first child (a son). That means I should have a grandson in about 6 1/2 years.

Because of biology's imperative that we all reproduce as much as possible, you can have kids throughout your whole life. In fact, from a biological point of view, the best time to have a child would be when the parents are still young enough to defend it and nurture it. This would mean having children at 17 or 18 years old, and people of the majority of cultures have been doing this for thousands of years. It is only in the 20th C that we see couples holding off childbirth until their mid to late 20s.

In terms of nowadays, I'd say the best time to have a child is never, but no one wants to hear that because they are being controlled by biology. Everyone just wants to have kids for their own selfish reasons. Everyone is a fukking sheep and it makes me sick. When people have kids they think they are creating little miracles, people congratulate them. Newsflash, any bitch in heat can get pregnant, it's not an accomplishment.

Steering back to topic though. Best time physically for female to have kids is before the age of 20, that way their bodies are still elastic enough to bounce back and can handle the trauma of chld bearing much much easier...Financially though, its a whole different ball game...

I was 24. My thinking is the cut off age is 35. You don't want to be to damn old when the kids are in their teens or even 18 and moving on with their life, so your not retirement age when your "free" of the responsibility of them.

I'm 34 now and my son is 9, and it is great I can horse around with him, throw footballs, play basketball, etc etc. Without being to old to do so. You can enjoy your kids growing ages more, when your at a younger age.

He is like my little brother.

Same ages as you onlooker. Just went to my sons first 4th grade basketball game this morning... where things start getting a bit more competitive and entertaining ya know. He had 4 points, 3 steals and 2 assists. I was so freakin proud of him... a feeling I couldn't replace with anything.
