alot of people make the mistake of mounting the tv too high. best is at eye level. Unless you want your room to have a "sports bar" feel.

Or just have a nice wife that'll get you them beers and blow you on demand, so you never need to leave that chair.

My dad sure is a lucky man.

Sectional with recliners, two flat screens wall mounted, stripper pole one corner, bar in other corner, and framed poster of Opie over your couch. Perfection.

where do you live? wouldn't want to recommend a fireplace in South Beach.

regardless of climate go for comfort on furniture, wall mounting a TV is meh now (imo).

i would get a beer tap / wet bar and as much wireless technology as possible (wherever in the house it can go).

I live in Ca so it doesn't really get to cold here besides Dec/Jan and then it doesnt get under freezing very often.

Maybe i didn't explain very well, but i don't want a bar type living room. Just want a nice setup with the tv on the wall and such. I plan on hooking up as much wireless as i can and what cant, ill try and hook up through the attic.

Not a big fan of the TV on the Wall thing. But with anything over 42" you pretty much have to.

Also, being in Cali you are in Earthquake territory so mounting it to the wall would be a good idea, just don't mount it too high.

    TOPLESS

    T-O-P-L-E-S-S

    Topless.

Just get a nice Tv that fits the size of the room. You're gonna need a unit underneath the TV anyways, so it doesn't really matter if you place the TV on top of the unit, or mount it on the wall. Like someone mentioned above, mounting on the wall isn't as "cool" as it used to be, I have no preference though.
