It does not matter since both QBs have rocket arms to cut through the wind conditions.

If Tim Tebow, or Alex Smith were playing then we would have a huge UNDER bet on our hands.

    ENORMOUSLY FAVORS BEARS.

Forte is great, Lions run defense sucks. Lions have required the big play, 50+ yard passes, to Calvin Johnson to win.

Bears are the better team. They'll win by a touchdown.

Hard to argue with that logic.

Let me try anyway. Bears win by 4.

turnovers could be a factor with the winds. Passing and the punting game could produce costly turnovers.

Culter is built for this weather. Bears better running game. Both Ds stout. Give slight edge to the bears by 7.

Lions are still pretenders in my eyes. Bears been rolling and will win by more than a field goal.

    Bears.
It hurts Detroit's deep passing threat that opens up the whole "O" for Detroit.
Its on natural turf, that helps the Bears vs Detroit pass rush.
And Bears should be able to run better, Forte will run, and Best is out for Detroit.
Detroit is a dome team and Cutler has learned how to deal with the wind better than Stafford.
Detroit coming off bye so should be fresh but Bears had a bye a week ago so they are healthy, too.
And it is a revenge game.
    Bears -2.5 BIG.

I don't see the Lions winning this game. It was a nailbiter last time in Detroit and the game was closer then the final score indicated. Since that time Mike Martz has decided to coach again (protect Cutler with max protect schemes) and Lovie looks like the coach of old. They coached a great game in Philly last week and I see their winning continuing here with another grind it out game. Chicago should win by 4 to 7 pts.

I think people are going to load up on the Bears because they are a better football team. But best of luck.

I think Stafford has said he hasn't even played in cold weather. This weather favors the Bears by a large margin. Just the obvious -- running the football, short/screen passes to Forte. Detroit likes to throw deep a lot more -- long ball to Johnson is their best play, that's how they scored in Detroit. Going to be really tough in gusty winds. Stafford has a good arm, but Cutler has more of a gun to cut thru wind. And then it just scrambles the special teams, where the Bears always have an edge. Even if Hester is out, Knox is very dangerous and Detroit is starting a new punter. Hansen is very good, but Gould is the best, especially at Soldier Field. And then with the wind and the cold, few defense are better at forcing turnovers and making plays than Urlacher, Briggs and Co. Turnovers are still the wildcard though.

Stafford isn't used to playing in the wind... and the Lions can't run it...

So how are they going to score today? Just something I would ask before I placed a wager on the Lions.

Windy with a mix of clouds and sun. High 64F. Winds SW at 25 to 35 mph. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.

Stafford played deep into the TX high school playoffs. Cold weather is comonplace.

Maybe he meant as a NFL player?

Might be 64 now (wow I gotta get outside) but this is a 3:15 start; sundown is 4:30. It'll be in the mid-40's by the 2nd quarter and with the wind the windchill will be in the low 30's.

The Lions won last time these two teams met because the Lions had 4-5 huge gainers.

With the strong wind, passes deep down field are going to be near impossible.

I honestly can't find a reason to like the Lions today, but I've been wrong before.

Are we giving the Bears O-line credit for one game where Cutler wasn't sacked?

No, but Cutler had a pretty good game against the Lions last matchup, and that was with their O-line at the absolute worst.

You've gotta assume the Bears O-line will play better, so Cutler will have even more time to pick apart that secondary.

To play the way they did against the Philly front was impressive, certainly no guarantees that it sticks. If you max protect you shouldn't give up any sacks.

Bears changed to max cover. I would expect better protection every game going forward, more guys on the line blocking.

It's not just the last game. It's the last 3 games. The first three games they've had continuity on the line after the permanent benching of Frank Omiyale., who played (horrificly) in the game at Detroit. Their line was in disarray and they got completely rattled by the crowd. Just a completely different scenario now. Plus the Bears have their best receiver, Earl Bennett, back. Cutler still managed to complete 28/38 without an INT in Detroit. Forte has 6 straight games over 100 yards from LOS against Detroit. This whole thing just sets up very badly for Detroit, but who knows, they play the game for a reason.
