    SBR BEST BET THREAD - Wednesday, October 12th, 2011

    Post your strongest bet of the day. You can use any sport you want, all types of straight wagers accepted, just make it clear.

    You may play money lines but only between -500 and +500.

    Scoring: -110 is risking 1.10 to win 1.00 and +110 is risking 1.00 to win 1.10 and so on.

    Post your record along with the play, the line, the odds, and the book. Please use American odds, not decimal.

    Using "SBR Book" and "Local" are not acceptable sources and your wager will not be graded.

    For MLB wagers, both listed pitchers must start in order for your bet to be valid unless stated "Action" for the game.

    For soccer and tennis bets, list the date, time, the opponent and how draws and retirements are to be graded.

    Do not edit your post or it will be graded as a -330 loss. Plays must be posted before the official start time.

    okay, first thing's gotta be first: priskilla22, you're gonna have to be pretty diligent with the accuracy of your lines from here on out. it was your first play (and it lost, so i guess it doesn't matter as much) and maybe you thought that posting a stale line or something you bet earlier in the week was okay...you can't. i don't make a daily habit of checking lines, as this thread is basically for fun and a bit of bragging rights, but i do read the posts, and i do have an idea of what most lines are, and if one seems 'off' i'll go ahead and give it the odds.sbrforum.com treatment. and as you can see from the last thread, the posters here do too. definitely feel free to keep picking, preferably on a daily basis, but also make sure that the line you use is the one that is current when your click 'post reply'.

    the other thing that i have to ask is to hockey people: when you say 'regulation only' or '+/- .5 goals 1st 60', that's like a soccer bet, yes? i'm not an idiot and it's just what it says it is, right? i couldn't name 5 players in the nhl, but occasionally i'll follow a guy and i only ever bet the ML. asking a dumb question now is better than making a dumb grade later.

    Chembro, I honestly don't know what you did with my record. You had it right in Monday's thread at 621-612-25, -18.72 and I then went 0-2 with two dog plays Monday and Tuesday, so my record on top of this thread should have been 621-614-25, -20.72. I then won yesterday at +120, so my updated record is below with Thursday's play.

    that's gotta have something to do with your record being slightly off then, because i usually just use the 'yesterday' tab on odds.sbrforum.com to quickly catch a score if i don't know it to grade. that's why i was asking because i didn't realize that there were more hockey bets other than just ML.

    i switched your record on my word doc, though i'm not gonna update until tomorrow so hopefully between now and then i don't find any other ways to screw anything up.
