regulation money lines. don't really like the -0.5, the +0.5 is okay.

Why do we have to choose one or the other?

For me the perfect balance between value/risk is to bet according to the juice which usually involves a split bet.

    Example today's games.

    1 unit AVS ML +115

    .5 unit BOS -.5 regulation +126
    .5 unit BOS ML -131

    .5 unit PHI -.5 regulation +116
    .5 unit PHI ML -140

When you combine the value from both a win in regulation time is well worth it, and if they win in OT/SO then it's often equivalent to a push. This is the best way to get maximum value from betting favorites in hockey and having a hedge for all the OT games at the same time. If it's an underdog you simply do +.5 regulation or ML depending on the value offered.

Skip the puckline and parlay bets. Those are hung out there for the people chasing bigger payouts.

If you take Bos +126 (-0.5) and Car ML +110, the only way you lose if the game goes to OT??? Yeah

I might start using this 60 min thing for faves since I have LIVE betting now.

    I was.

I assume this is not profitable long term or else books would not allow it??

Maybe good for a rollover/bonus in certain spots.

I never played much totals in the nhl last year. Why are they so juiced on the under?

So far it's been about a split but I guess it's not like the nfl where everyone loves the bet the over.

Because most games go under 5.5.

However, books do not want to drop it to 5, in most cases. Over would be heavily favored, and it also would result in a lot of pushes.

    Any numbers from last year?

    Overs are 16-14 this year.

    FINAL FUXXIN WORD:
I hope we can all agree that Shootouts and OTS generally mean a 50 50 up to a 60 40. But hell that's all luck by then, IF YOU bet on a team that you believe NEED OT OR SHOOTOUT TO WIN, maybe you shouldn't have made the bet in the first place. The big juice save saves a lot so think about it guys

Don't understand this hatred for shootouts. Even though I've lost plenty of money on them, I just love it when games end tied after regulation and ot and must be decided in a so. Sometimes you get to see more action and goals in five minutes than during the whole game

What do you guys think is a better play, under 5.5 (-135) or no team scores 4 goals (-120)?

Shootouts are like, as alluded, NBA settling a game on a 3pt contest, or the NFL just starting at the 25yd line and if both sides make FGs, then the 30yd, then the 35yd line.

No other sport has seen fit to bastardize the underlying rules or continuity in such a way ...

    I blame Bettman
