Lions seriously, they have played three games.
Saints is anther interesting pick, there defense is terrible.

If we are going off of 'right now', sure that might be the three best teams. If we are talking about the three best teams in the NFC, overall and who I think will be there at the end of the season.?

    Philly
    Packers
then a number of teams will fight for that third spot. Lions, New Orlenas, Dallas, Atalnta.

Durability at the QB position is a concern with the Lions Problems stopping the rush is another concern.

Lions are top 4 in NFC right now but a long way to go

Phila D just as bad as New Orleans. Durability at QB position puts NO over Phila.

Philly's Defense right now is bad , their line backer core is what is causing the problems. A lot of young guys, with no ota no training camp, i thought the first half of the season was going to be rough for us. If you even look at the last game, Casey Matthews just making a dumb mental mistake and brandon jacobs scores on an easy 50+ yard pass play.

If you look at our secondary with Samuel, Rodgers, and Asu, it can't much better then that. Also the front four, gets to the QB probably more then any other team, this 'wide 9' stance is great for rushing the qb, but teams are just running the ball down the middle. Which really wouldn't be a huge deal, if our line backers were not making the mental mistakes in the passing game too.

Line Backers will improve as the season goes on, and so will our defense overall. Its been a dramatic change for us, a new d-line coach, new d-coordinator, who changed the system probably to the exact opposite of what philly has been doing for years. Instead of Blitzing to get pressure, they now just relay on their front four to get the pressure, and never blitz. That will be key for them, it allows them to have more guys in coverage, which makes the mental mistakes even worse for philly.

Lets see where they are by the end of the year, I think they will be fine though. They are too talented up front and in the secondary for their defense to be this bad all year long.

Right now, I think the Lions could beat the Packers. The Packers defense, you want to talk about being bad. There secondary has been terrible, and without Barnett, and what looks like an aging Woodsen. Its going to take them a while to come together if ever this season, so they are going to need to put up a lot of points.

Loins secondary hasn't been tested... They have played mcnabb cassel and freeman... Let's see how they do against a team with a real qb... If they pass thay test, sure put them up with the top teams in the nfc...until then, c'mon, its the lions and its been three weeks

Why is San Fran on everyone's list??

Green Bay (clearly in the best in the NFC)

    New Orleans

    NY Giants

The Giants have outplayed teams in 10 of 12 quarters this season, only with a 2H letdown vs. Washington. The Giants could very well win the NFC East

last time the ravens beat a team by 4 touchdowns or more, the next week- their opponent scored twice as many points as them.

beating a team by 4 touchdowns means nothing. right?

of course preseason isnt the same. just take it for what it is. they were murdering people with stanton in at QB this year.

LB pointed it out first. I just didn't notice he did.

Maybe Cap knows about realignment that we're not privy to.

Winning that division doesn't make the 9ers anywhere near a top three team, and they were just beaten by a Cowboy team at 70%. These aren't arguable points.

Huh? a DT will not make that huge of a difference in the passing game... They are still yet to face a team with a potent passing game. This Sunday vs Dallas could be a nice test if the cowboys have their weapons

Sure it affects it... But more so from the ends then the dts.. either way that's an outrageous comment to make about even a rookie corner who has never player a nfl snap, let alone a dt

This lions secondary is very suspect, and will be exposed when it meets the nfcs elite

by the last comment on page two, the guy who said what everyone was thinking meant it seems like you dont know anything about football. Dts collapse pockets and disrupt blocking assignments, DEs sick QBs and close off the corners.

this is a team sport and DT is one of the most important positions on the team. look at how many get drafted in the first and second round. they make things happen for the team.

You are right, the nfl is screwed now... Regardless of the lions weak secondary, no team will be able to throw more then 20 yards the rest of the yr bc.the almighty rookie dt nick fairly is back! Rodgers and brees should just retire and save themselves the embarrassment!

you should save yourself a little embarrassment if you can.

its not just untested beastly fairley. its fairley and suh on the same already-decent line. did you forget about Suh or you dont know who that is or you think hes a non-factor or what? if you think im saying their d-line is going to be nice "bc.the almighty rookie dt nick fairly is back!" then it must be one of these options.

obviously (to everyone with half a brain) preventing every team (and rodgers and brees) from even completing one 20+ yard pass is an exaggeration/ hyperbole.

not sure EXACTLY how dumb you are so i dont know if i need to keep explaining or not....

The Cowboys will be in this conversation by the end of the season. Once they get healthy and the D really sinks their teeth into Rob Ryan's scheme. They should be undefeated right now. Only time will tell, but this team is entirely capable of going on a run at the end of the season. That being said, GB and NO are clearly the cream of the crop in the NFC right now with Det a notch below them and Dal and Philly a notch below the Lions.

This is how I see things playing out:
NFC Championship Game - NO @ GB
AFC Championship Game - Hou @ NE

Superbowl - NE vs. GB (Not a juicy pick but this is by far the most likely SB game and it would be a great one.)
