How fast did the referee count to 10 in the Mayweather fight?

    So Mayweather knocks down Ortiz.

I don't watch boxing much but... is that how a referee counts to 10? I recalled watching boxing many years ago and when a player is knocked down, the referee counts 1, 2, 3 etc like normal seconds. I was expecting him to go 1, 2, 3 slowly. Sure those were huge punches by Mayweather and Ortiz got knocked down but i thought he could get back up.

    That referee counted 1 , 2 , 3 and then 10 in like 5 seconds.

Is that normal? It was like a WWE referee counting 1, 2 and 3 in like 1 second

the ring ref started his count at 4... if you noticed, there is a ref ring side who started counting immediately when ortiz hit the mat, and then he relays the count to the ref in the ring.

I just timed it from the instant ortiz hits the mat and the first ref starts counting...and it was about 10.5 seconds

The ref could count to 20, he wasn't going to get up

I wish ortiz nothing but the best and I think if this doesn't discourage him he's going to be a tough welterweight opponent for pretty much anyone but floyd and manny.

Didn't really matter as Ortiz was still squirming around on the mat at the 10 count. Guy would have stayed down 60 seconds if needed. He just took two of Floyd's money shots and didn't want no more. I can't blame the guy.

I don't know if he wanted anymore or not, but the count made no difference Ortiz was out.
