Yes by all means agitate your boss by asking him to "prove it". Most companies have personal appearance clause for employes and it doesn't have to be any form you signed. Shave if your boss tells you to shave or go get another job.

I got a full beard and trim it 3 times a week and shave my neck those days and it dont take 15 minutes total. Are you just bad with sharp objects in your hand or just slow all the time from some injury?

I cant get fired for this right? isn't that illegal?
If you are hired at will it is not illegal to fire you. Post some pictures for us to see if you look good unshaven. Not many people look good with a stubble.

He can basically fire you for any reason... doesn't mean you can't sue. If it's company policy and in writing though, you are screwed.

Yeah it really all depends on what he is asking u to shave. If he wants u to shave your vagina then it might not be ok.

When you were first hired, you probably signed a company policy stating you would abide by the dress code. It might state that you must beat neatly trimmed or that you may not maintain facial hair.

If this is something new and you have been at this job for while, i would ask for a copy of the company polices. If it states that you are not in accordance, then you can be terminated for failure to meet company standards. If they do not have that policy, then i am sure your boss would write up one. it would not be valid until you signed it. He could fire you for not signing it, but you would be eligible for unemployment due to the fact that your company is changing their policies.

The state you live in plays a role too. In Colorado, you can be fired for no reason at all. If you are fired for race, sex or religion, then you can have a legal case, but they are not required to give you a reason.

Depends what you're talking about. Gentle trimming or full brazilian?

he can tell you to keep it neat, but unless youre a firefighter or perhaps in the food service industry, he does not have the right to tell you to shave it off because he doesnt like it or has some sort of negative opinion of it.

alot of companies have an "employment at will" policy which the employee signs. They can fire someone for any reason other than descrimination.

I think it's bs...you have to shave at my job, but one black guy brought in a doctors note that he can't shave everyday and gets a pass.

In the day I worked for a company that required no facial hair and no hair more than one quarter inch over the ear. I hated it but I also needed the money. That company was Disney. Things are easier now. Still if your being lazy and coming in with three day shadow your boss is probably doing his job. He has to answer to someone also. So shave or get a different job.
