If lock threads were to be regulated all the other bs should be looked at first.
No one reads the LOCK threads..and no one bets them. It's just forum clutter you have to deal with on a daily basis.

They are actually called sticky threads, not locked.
Its kind of seasonal. At the start of football there are a lot of guys just checking in for the first time in a few months. It helps them and the new guys get up to speed. Thats pretty much it and of course there are a couple of sponsor related ones.
I maybe wrong John, but I don't think he is talking about the sticky threads. I think he is talking about the "lock" pick threads.
