Opie is a REAL American Good Ol' Boy

Contrary to popular belief, very few people in Texas are "asshole hicks". The myth that Texas is just a bunch of farms and ranches gets all over me. The Dallas/Ft Worth area is the 5th largest metro area in the country. A lot of people are "knowledgeable about random topics", believe it or not some of us actually have college degrees. Good post. I agree with this. The one time I drove through Amarillo, I recall multiple intimidating sheriffs with cowboy hats driving SUV's with long horns on the hood. As well as some interesting characters in the convenience stores.
I think there is a certain stereotype of people that the whole world is convinced comes out of Texas. It is an obvious generalization. I would love to visit Dallas, Houston, and especially Austin sometime soon.

I've lived in Dallas my whole life, so it's not the most exciting place to me. However, we do have a lot of fun things to do for someone who isn't from here. If you do visit, wait for it to cool down!

Pavy, a regular one is just Joe Schmo or the general public. Someone that just lives here and leads a boring anonymous life, with not much concerns for any of the things that founded and represent this country. Such as sports, BBQ, adventure, patriotism, and camaraderie.
Maybe someone that would do everything possible to avoid fighting for their country in a war. I'm not referring to the present day war, but I consider it more relevant back in the day. Like when you watch those war movies like Platoon and Saving Private Ryan. You want to go into enemy territory with guys that got your back when things get rough. Guys you share a common bond with and that you can trust with your life. Good ol' boys.

Opie, Dallas a great city to visit? I was in Houston earlier this year and it was a bit disappointing. We did go to the Rodeo, which was fun. And the women were amazing.
Rodeo's tend to be kinda lame, unless you're really into it. Dallas and Houston both have tons of gorgeous women. They'll be 5-6 smoking hot ones all running together in a wolf pack.
