Typical NFL game tonight epitomizes why no one should be wagering on this sport

As with just about every NFL game they all seem to come down to the last drive. Houston misses several clear opportunities to sack the QB for a huge loss. Defying the impossible the Jets move the ball down the field. They have a wide open receiver 5 yards behind the last defender for an easy TD. All Jets backers jump for joy as it looks like an easy TD to win the game and their bets. But Oh No! he drops it. However all hope is not lost as they convert a 3rd and 20 to set up a last second hail mary from the 20. Unfortunately the slow white QB thought he could run it 10 yards up field and then launch the pass. I'd rather play black jack or roulette at the casino than go through this misery game after game.

its the hardest by far actually. If you beat the books in NFL betting, then you are the rare exception rather than the rule. All the power to you sir.

Don't matter how hard you work to beat the game.

Most games with the spread are decided by dumb luck

well if that's true, and I have no reason to not believe you, then good for you. You are the exception.

I had a fantastic year 2 years ago so I know it can be done. I hope you have a great NFL season this year as I plan to have!

I guess throw out basketball since most games are decided in the final minutes/seconds..no reason to even play the first 3 quarters.

I had SF Giants giants tonight, up by 2 in the bottom of the ninth and they give up 3 runs to lose the game..bad beats suck but they happen in every sport.

What i can't stand is the BS announcers and the sideline interviews when I'm trying to watch a game I have money on and in the NFL they are always doing some bullshit with some interview on the sidelines...better off making bets and not watching the game just check the scoreboard and see if you won or lost and move onto the next game

Suckers bet the sides (full game pre season)

Actually it is the opposite, this is why you should be betting the nfl because it's so predictable.

    Just stop watching the games.

    Don't go against sharp moves.

    You'll be fine.

What's with the eye candy chicks in pant suits asking fluff questions on the sidelines? I have no problems with female announcers, if they know what they're talking about (face it 70% of all announcers pretty much suck.) But these ladies that show up for 15-60 sec. each half to ask questions like "Coach, do you think you'll need to put more points on the board to win?" "Mmm, we're behind so I'm going to have to say yes." "OK, there you have it now back to the both.

    WTF!?!

The lesson is you should not bet unless you have a reason, some solid logic that leads you to believe it is a good play, don't just make a bet to have some action. I didn't see any reason to bet the Jets tonight and the rookie 7th round QB not getting done in the end is no surprise, that they were that close was the surprise. Texans were the smart play in this one IMO, does not mean they were destined to win or cover, but a - 2 1/2 it was the play to make.

    You're right, NFL is bull.

I've never had an MLB bet decided by a dropped ball or extra innings or anything.

    Not ever

    Not once

And do you know what's the funny thing? The ones who cashed their bets are bragging how sharp they are when the outcome of the came was a pure coin flip.

actually the line was sharp. either the jets won 16-13 to give jets backers a win on +3 or houston won 20-16 to give texans backers of -3 the win and sharper bettors who caught -2.5 on houston were safe from a missed extra point. nfl lines are usually spot on. most games are usually a coin flip.

It's called preseason and you should not play games where teams are 50/50 against each other, like the Jets vs Texans game you just witnessed.

Wait till regular season. I say this to everyone. Preseason is a guessing game, regular season is not.

    The line was sharp definitely.

But do you think the ones who cashed or pushed a ticket were sharp and predicted the final drive ahead of time?

Unless you had good knowledge that Yates was a diamond in the rough 3rd stringer. Nothing in the first 3 quarters indicated an edge either way. Most people stayed away from the game...and I think when it was all over it was pretty clear why.

actually the line wasnt sharp. it was just like the rest.

almost every preseason home team has been a -3 or so chalk so i dont see why this is a surprise.
