The only reason we had a surplus was because the Republican Congress refused to overspend like Clinton wanted, and because of the boom of the dot com bubble. That's it.

dumbed down country...makes me sick thinking they could elected Ron Paul...by now the budget was balanced, Patriot Act, DSH, IRS, Department of Energy, Education, EPA and TSA abolished, taxes lowered, wars over, south border secured, many military bases around the world closed, dollar and economy stronger, FED audited, etc.

Everything I said there was right... want me to show proof? Maybe I didn't give Clinton enough credit, he did see the benefit of a balanced budget in his later years, but the Republican Congress rejected how many of his early proposals because he requested too much spending? 5 in 1 year if I remember correctly?

And the Bush spending stuff I said was 100% correct, according to the CBO and the current White House.... are they not credible?

Lastly, i voted for obama. I think hes done a poor job. I think he was the best choice then. I think he may be the best choice again in 2012. A lot of people here overlook his appointments. Most chitchat that takes place here is about politics and party platforms, much less about the man himself. a good way to judge a president is by his appointments. if you enjoy reading and dont mind doing a bit of digging, look up his appointments and their interests and histories. enjoy
