    Do you gamble to lose?

    I've heard some say they do. They need a loss to feel as if their still alive. Any truth to this? Do you know someone like this?

    tons of guys win at certain sports from time to time...if you arent modeling/middling/scalping/arbing, you are going to lose long term... guys who think they have a "system" or a "better feel" than others, unfortunately, are only fooling themselves.

    yes, why else would anyone gamble. You do it to lose money. I love losing money. When I'm bored, I take a walk and "accidentally" drop $100 bills on the sidewalk and walk away.

    No one will admit it. But I have heard that there is something scientific to this theory. Gamblers deep inside want to lose. I feel like I want to win money, but who knows I guess. Everybody is messed up.

    People gamble because they want to WIN, or at least, feel what it's like to be a winner. They want to be good at it and they will risk their money trying.

    More often than not, after losing money on a wager a gambler will continue to keep betting in hopes of recouping their losses.

    So how can it be a matter of "wanting to lose"?
